What I learnt about NBN Co this week "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

It is easy to lose track of what federal government-owned NBN Co is up to these days, so I did a quick search of mainstream media reports and the company website. This is what I found.

In the nine months up to 31 March 2018 NBN Co listed $1,413 million in revenue, up from $665 million for the same period last year. Nevertheless it appears the company is operating at a loss.

NBN Cos CEO earns est. $3.62 million per annum approximately six times more than Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

Million-dollar salary packages are paid to another four top executives.

More than 480 of NBN Cos staff are on $200,000-plus salaries and 120 earn more than $300,000.

NBN Co paid $66 million in bonuses to its staff last financial year.

In February and March 2018 the companys  three top executives spent almost $40,000 on business-class flights and accommodation during a trip to Spain to attend a conference.

Although NBN plans are advertised with speeds such as 25Mbps or 50Mbps, performance on fixed wireless drops in the evening and the CEO has stated that "We don't have the money to invest in this to take it above 6Mbps which means that many customers cannot get a decent image when streaming videos or live entertainment.

NBN Co has fobbed off customers 80,000 times...

Feigning ignorance Steven Rhett Cansdell seeks to re-enter politics.....

Former Clarence MP Steve Cansdells return to public life began with an apology.

Firstly I want to nip things in the bud, Mr Cansdell began when he spoke yesterday at the Grafton Hotel to reveal why he would stand for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party at the 2019 NSW Election.

Seven years ago I stuffed up through ignorance, but ignorance is not an excuse, he said.

I had to resign. It was the hardest thing Ive ever done in my life, to resign from parliament, and the people I served and expected things from me, to let them down.
To them I apologise.

Unemployment rate falls to 5.4pc "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Unemployment rate back to 2013 levels

Employment increased by a seasonally adjusted 15,900 to a new high of 12,522,300 in May.

That still wasn't enough to stop the annual pace of jobs growth slowing from a sizzling 3.4pc just a few months earlier to a still-reasonable 2.5pc.

And, importantly, the pace of full time jobs growth has faded over the past four months too.

Melbourne and Sydney continue to create employment at a strong clip.

New South Wales has seen by far the greatest employment growth over the past year at 137,200, with Victoria (72,000) and Queensland (64,900) also performing well in terms of headline employment growth.

The unemployment rate hit its lowest level in 6 months at 5.40 per cent, and is essentially as low as we've seen since January 2013.

Dr. Hal Puthoff's speech at the Society for Scientific Exploration 2018 conference "IndyWatch Feed National"

Introduction

The 37th conference of the Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) was held in conjunction with the International Remote Viewing Association conference,  between 6-10 June 2018, in Las Vegas, USA. One of the speakers was Dr Hal Puthoff

Dr Puthoff spoke of his interest in the areas of a) quantum vacuum fluctuations, b) remote viewing, and c) Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. In this latter area, he spoke about his work with the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications program. This post will highlight parts of his speech which interested me, and is not intended to be a full report of the speech. Quotes below are from Dr Puthoff's speech.

Name of the program

"The program was nicknamed Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program..."Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Application program" is the actual name of the program."

My comment:

The Defense Intelligence Agency's 2008 solicitation for bidders for this contract, states that the program was called Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications program.

When did the program begin?

"It began in June of 2007..."

My comment:

Although a number of people have made comments that the program commenced in 2007, I have not before seen a month in 2007 mentioned.

Terms used

I note that Dr Puthoff mostly  uses the term "Advanced Aerospace vehicles "when referring to the phenomenon under study.

Soviet Union

"This is a document in the program we dug out of the Soviet Union ("Thread-3.") It's a very thick document. It shows that the Soviet Union had a massive program also trying to get to the root of all of this. In this document a number of research institutes and military institutes are listed..."

My comment:

1. An Internet search using the term "Thread-3" failed to locate any information.

2. The reference to "a massive program" contrasts with information revealed in one of the UK UAP files released last year. File DEFE 24/3152 pages 219-220, reveals a DI55 paper titled 'Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP)" dated 19 June 1995.

120 countries at UN condemn Israel over Gaza violence "IndyWatch Feed National"

For some, attacking Israel is their favorite political sport. Thats why we are here today, Nikki Haley said

The UN General Assembly on Wednesday adopted by a strong majority of 120 countries an Arab-backed resolution condemning Israel for Palestinian deaths in Gaza and rejected a US bid to blame Hamas for the violence.

The resolution deplores Israels use of excessive, disproportionate and indiscriminate force against Palestinian civilians and calls for protection measures for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

At least 129 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire during protests near the border with Gaza that began at the end of March. No Israelis have died.

The resolution put forward by Algeria and Turkey on behalf of Arab and Muslim countries won 120 votes in the 193-member assembly, with 8 votes against and 45 abstentions.

An amendment presented by the United States condemning Hamas for inciting violence along the border with Gaza failed to garner the two-third majority needed for adoption.

US Ambassador Nikki Haley dismissed the resolution as one-sided and accused Arab countries of trying to score political points at home by seeking to condemn Israel at the United Nations.

For some, attacking Israel is their favorite political sport.  Thats why we are here today, Haley told the assembly.

I wish everyone supporting this one-sided resolution would put as much energy into encouraging President Abbas to the negotiating table, she said.

'Twisted joke': Leaked photo of Australian soldiers flying Nazi swastika in Afghanistan sparks scandal "IndyWatch Feed National"

A photo of a Nazi flag on an Australian military vehicle in Afghanistan has been condemned by the country's PM and Jewish community, while its Defense Ministry says the soldiers responsible for the stunt have been "disciplined." Australian soldiers were caught flying the Nazi swastika flag from their vehicle while conducting a mission in Afghanistan as part of a NATO-force deployment back in 2007, according to ABC, which obtained an exclusive photo of the incident. It is believed that that the picture was just one of many photographs that were reportedly being circulated among military personnel. The news outlet also saw a second picture of the military vehicle flying a swastika. Furthermore, two separate defense sources revealed the identity of the Aussie soldier who took the flag with him on overseas duty. The person's name was not shared with the public.

Byron Council to appoint new, mystery GM "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

Byron Shire Council is on the cusp of appointing a new General Manager but is keeping the identity of the new boss Top Secret.

The agenda for the upcoming full council meeting on June 21 indicates that the council has selected its candidate for the position, but refers to him or her only as Candidate #4.

Given that the agenda item is being moved by Mayor Simon Richardson, and his Greens bloc has political control of the council, it appears that the ascension of the mysterious Candidate #4 to the position of GM is a mere formality.

Cr Richardsons motion indicates that the new boss will be signed up to a five-year contract, and suggests he or she will be paid the same as the previous general manager Ken Gainger.

They will also be signed up to the standard contract for general managers written by the Office of Local Government which local news junkies can download here.

The appointment of a new GM follows months of vetting and candidate interviews conducted behind closed doors.

The Echo has heard that councillors made at least one trip to the Tweed to interview candidates suggesting they have been looking outside the Shire for the new boss.

Given the Byron communitys passion for local issues and natural wariness of authority figures the new GM can expect plenty of interest when they do finally pull into the prime parking spot at the Council chambers on Station St Mullumbimby.

The official announcement of the new GM is expected soon after the next council meeting on June 21.

What to do with the poo? "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

Dr Dirk Erler at the Casino Wastewater Treatment Works. Photo supplied.

Australia has lagged behind the rest of the world in waste processing and Southern Cross University (SCU) is bringing Australia to the table. They are investigating new uses for human excrement and food processing waste while solving disposal issues.

SCU has received funding for a two-year project focusing on applying techniques such as pyrolysis and anaerobic digestion to dairy-processing solids (the dairy industry produces millions of litres of liquid organic wastes annually) and human waste in the northern rivers.

Pyrolysis, is the controlled combustion of organic material to produce biochar and combustible gases, and anaerobic digestion produces combustible methane.

Though they arent new technologies there has been little application of these techniques by local industry, said project leader Dr Dirk Erler.

Given animal manures have been used as fertilisers for centuries, this project will also explore if the processed human excrement and dairy by-product have similar potential.

The project involves testing to see if heat-treated wastes have any agronomic benefit, or if we can strip nutrients such as phosphates from the wastes, said Dr Terry Rose from Southern Cross Plant Science.

At the moment farmers in the region spend significant amounts of money on fertilisers, where they should be getting it cheaply from the wastes being generated in other local industries.

Methane could produce onsite electricity while biochar, a soil amendment product, could be used locally.

The aim of the project is to apply these technologies to see if they work, and then investigate ways of maximising energy and nutrient recapture, said Dr Erler.

$500,000 funding has come from the federal governments Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment while Richmond Valley Council, NORCO, and Richmond Dairies have collectively contributed  $180,000 to...

SHIFT Project hits capacity, looks to expand with your help "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

Recycled bags that SHIFT project participants made out of old Byron Shire Echo newspapers. Photo Simon Haslam.

A local not-for-profit that helps women move from homelessness to independence within the community is looking to expand.

SHIFT Project organisers say they are at capacity and are unable to meet the increasing demands from women in need wanting to participate in their program.

Over the last three and half years, SHIFT say they have seen more than 30 women graduate from the program and 98 per cent have remained living sustainably within the community, with casual or parttime work.

These outcomes, which have seen women successfully transition from homelessness to complete independence from the welfare system, are outstanding, said a spokesperson for the organisation.

Double donation dollars

Planning is underway to establish an external social enterprise called The SHIFT Project Hub and they currently have an offer to double all donations received by the Fortitude Foundation.

Establishing the Hub would allow the expansion of the program and open opportunities for other women in the community, particularly with potential employment pathways.

For more information, or to donate, visit the SHIFT project. Every dollar they raise by 30 June is currently matched dollar for dollar by the Fortitude Foundation.

Mr McConville welcomed the result and said it should encourage others who had been served with a fine, adding that taking the matter to court cost him less than the $500 fine he would have had to pay.

He said the magistrate described the offence as trivial and at the lowest end of the criminal spectrum.

He added the magistrates refusal to convict him puts into doubt the polices zero tolerance strategy.

It suggests people who are simply naked without the intention to offend people will be treated lightly in court, he said.

If thats the case, fines wont be forthcoming to the government and police will be wasting court time and money unless they have a case against someone acting in an offensive manner.

He said Magistrate Dunlevy had a really good attitude he openly questioned my plea. He said you know theres contention in Byron Shire as to whether being naked is an offence.

Unclear evidence

Mr McConville was nabbed at Tyagarah Tea Tree lake, where hes bathed numerous times before, on a week day early in April.

I was probably there for 10 minutes at most. Myself and my girlfriend had just been down to the beach and I washed the salt off while she waited on the shore.

He said he missed the sign advising that the Tea Tree Lake was no longer a clothing-optional area, because I was barefoot  I was looking at the ground.

Mr McConville said police had been observing him from some distance and took photographs through a screen of fairly obfuscating vegetation.

The evidence that the court presented didnt even show my genitals in the pictures.

The magistrate made mention of the fact that the photos were not clear.

When the two police approached Mr McConville and told him he was going to be fined he told them they were over-pol...

Call for assistance with illegal asbestos dumping "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

Asbestos found on public land at Exton Street, North Lismore on Tuesday, 12 June 2018. Photo supplied.

Information on the illegal dumping of asbestos is being sought by Lismore Council who have attended four seperate instances of illegal dumping on public land involving asbestos sheeting since May 4.

Asbestos containing material is highly hazardous and is something that should always be handled with extreme care. It is predominantly found in building materials that were used in housing construction between 1940 and 1990.

Poor handling of asbestos can cause the release of asbestos fibres into the air, these fibres are around 50 to 200 times thinner than a human hair, can be invisible and can be easily breathed in. If they are breathed in they can become trapped deep in your lungs and cause damage over a long time.

Being exposed to asbestos increases the risk of developing cancers of the lungovary and larynx as well as mesothelioma (cancer of the lining of the lung). These cancers often develop decades after exposure to asbestos according to the Cancer Council.

The most recent asbestos dumping incident was attended by Lismore City Council on Tuesday, 12 June at Exton Street, North Lismore; where an estimated 1.5 2 tonnes of asbestos was found on public land. The sheeting found was of two distinct colours with some sheets painted brown and others painted cream. It was wrapped in black plastic and a blue tarp was also found at the site which is believed to have been used to cover the load during transportation of the material.

Lismore City Councils Environmental Compliance Officer Stuart Thomson said, These types of offences show a complete disregard for the health and safety of any person that may inadvertently come into contact with the material.

Scottish National Party members walk out of Westminster "IndyWatch Feed National"

Contributed by Jim Hayes

Outrage erupted in the British House of Commons yesterday and Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) members of parliament walked out. The reason for it was that the partys leader in the British parliament was thrown out by the Speaker, after he refused to be gagged in the argument over the EU Withdrawal Bill, which concerns the Brexit process.

Ian Blackford made the stand, as a move against what he categorised, an attempted British power grab and democratic outrage.

The member was ordered to resume his contribution at the end of the process. This would have silenced him, to a footnote after the deal had been effectively done. His stand and the subsequent walkout ensured that the matter would come to public attention could not be swept under the carpet.

Brexit and the Bill centre on two important issues for Scotland. Most Scots dont want to leave Europe and the SNP has been pushing for specifically Scottish trading arrangements. And this is closely tied with the other and more important issue, the devolution of powers to Scotland.

There has been no progress on either front.

Scotlands First Minister and leader of the SNP, Nicola Sturgeon, praised Blackford and the other SNP, saying, The events in the Commons yesterday were a travesty of democracy.

Stitch-up after stitch-up that were more about protecting the Tory party than protecting the interests of the country. Scotland was treated with utter contempt.

The SNP MPs today made sure that issue was highlighted, and they did it in the only way open to them.

Im very proud of Ian Blackford and the SNP MPs for making sure today that Scotlands voice was heard.

She added that the event proved the Westminster system simply does not serve Scotlands interests.

A big problem for the supporters of Scottish independence, is that there is a long tradition of bipartisan opposition to it in England. It was shown again, in the Labour Partys stand on the walkout., which was to take the governments side and join in calling it a political stunt. The Scottish sense that they are being silenced and treated with disrespect was ignored.

Cutting debate time on the matter of devolution of powers in relation to the Bill, was a cutting expression of this lack of respect. lan Blackford and the SNP MPs were protesting the fact.

It the absence of respect, which is shown by the gagging, Scotlands concerns have not been taken seriously. This is a continuation of the lack of any real attempt to negotiate any form of workable solution that everyone can live with.

Economic interest, combined with British xenophobia, is still working to maintain control over Scotland....

Australian's forced online health records at risk "IndyWatch Feed National"

Australians are given the illusion that they live in a democracy with a choice, in this case with regards to their health records being online.

The official statement by The Department of Health is as follows:

"As part of the 2017-18 Budget, the Australian Government announced that the My Health Record system would transition to opt-out participation. By the end of 2018, every Australian will have a My Health Record, unless they choose not to have one."

Australians may not be aware that their health records are already online, maybe not in the "My Health Record" folder, but nonetheless "online".

When the corporation aggregate commonly referred to as the Australian Government, takes an action with regards to the 'budget' it's a cost cutting exercise where the general population is at risk.

The Australian Government's I.T. infrastructure is in shambles, but don't take the word of people in government to tell you this, as not only are they not obliged by any law to tell you (the tax slaves) the truth, the inadequacies can be hidden under whatever national security or secrecy laws they choose to install.

Make no mistake about it, your health records are 'online', where they can be accessed, but with the introduction of another publicly funded scam called My Health Recordyou are given the illusion that you have blocked a person's access to your entire medical history.

This is already what's happening where the people in government have not told you this but rather a publisher's employee trawling the web:

It's time to stop giving more rights to global corporations "IndyWatch Feed National"

June 14, 2018:

This article by Dr Patricia Ranald was published in the Sydney Morning Herald

The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has published new research that shows that increased market power of global corporations is driving global income inequality. It notes that in 20092015, the surplus profits of the top 1 per cent of publicly listed firms in a new UNCTAD firm-level database represented 55 per cent of recorded operating profits, and recommends a review of existing regulation and trade agreements to develop measures to curb abusive business practices.

This research supports the case against giving corporations greater legal powers to sue governments over changes to domestic laws in trade deals, (known as investor-state dispute settlement or ISDS) like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP-11). The TPP-11 emerged after the US withdrew from the TPP-12 and is being reviewed by both Joint and Senate parliamentary inquiries, before the parliament votes on the implementing legislation, with a Joint Committee hearing in Sydney on Friday.

The Turnbull government has agreed to ISDS in the TPP-11, despite the Howard government rejection of it in the US-Australia FTA. The previous ALP government also rejected it, as does current ALP policy, together with Greens and Centre Alliance policy. These parties, with other cross-benchers, form a majority in the Senate.

ISDS is hotly debated because it gives increased legal rights to global corporations, enabling them to bypass national courts and sue governments for millions of dollars in unfair international tribunals over changes in law or policy, even if they are in the public interest. This was seen first-hand in Australia when the Philip Morris tobacco company sued the federal government over plain packaging laws. Critics such as former High Court chief justice French have noted these tribunals have no independent judiciary, precedents or appeals. There are now over 850 known cases, with increasing numbers against health, environment and even indigenous land rights law and policy.

The EU and the US are also withdrawing from ISDS. ISDS cases against EU governments, like the Swedish energy company Vattenfall suing the German government over its phase-out of nuclear energy, led to fierce European public opposition, and two recent court cases.

The European Court of Justice deter...

Astronomers suggest nanodiamonds are responsible for the microwave light emanating from distant stars "IndyWatch Feed National"

Nanoscale gemstones source of mysterious cosmic microwave light For decades, astronomers have puzzled over the exact source of a peculiar type of faint microwave light emanating from a number of regions across the Milky Way. Known as anomalous microwave emission (AME), this light comes from energy released by rapidly spinning nanoparticles - bits of matter so small that they defy detection by ordinary microscopes. (The period on an average printed page is approximately 500,000 nanometers across.) "Though we know that some type of particle is responsible for this microwave light, its precise source has been a puzzle since it was first detected nearly 20 years ago," said Jane Greaves, an astronomer at Cardiff University in Wales and lead author on a paper announcing this result in Nature Astronomy. Until now, the most likely culprit for this microwave emission was thought to be a class of organic molecules known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) - carbon-based molecules found throughout interstellar space and recognized by the distinct, yet faint infrared (IR) light they emit. Nanodiamonds - particularly hydrogenated nanodiamonds, those bristling with hydrogen-bearing molecules on their surfaces - also naturally emit in the infrared portion of the spectrum, but at a different wavelength. A series of observations with the National Science Foundation's Green Bank Telescope (GBT) in West Virginia and the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) has - for the first time - homed in on three clear sources of AME light, the protoplanetary disks surrounding the young stars known as V892 Tau, HD 97048, and MWC 297. The GBT observed V892 Tau and the ATCA observed the other two systems.

Foodora taken to court over gig economy underpayment "IndyWatch Feed National"

Contributed from Victoria

Gig economy food delivery giant Foodora is going to court over allegations of under payment of three riders.

The case will be heard in the Federal Court in Sydney on 10 July.

Legal action has been initiated by Fair Work Ombudsman Natalie James, claiming the riders had been engaged as independent contractors, but did the work of employees.

This is an important case, where if the company is found guilty, it will throw doubt on the legality of the increasingly widespread practice.

In this instance, the case involves the non-payment of a significant part of the wages that would have occurred if the three had been engaged as employees.

Two of the alleged victims, worked for Foodora in Melbourne and the third in Sydney, during 2015 and 2016.

The Ombudsman explained in a press release, that the office has examined the nature of the relationship between Foodora and the three workers, using the following factors.

  • the level of control, supervision and direction Foodora exercised over the workers hours, location and manner of work;
  • the requirement for the workers to wear a Foodora-branded t-shirt and use food storage boxes and/or bike racks supplied by Foodora;
  • Foodora paid the workers fixed hourly rates and/or amounts per delivery and the workers did not negotiate their rates of pay at any time; and
  • each of the workers was not genuinely conducting their own delivery business, in that they: did not advertise or promote their availability to perform deliveries to the public; did not delegate their delivery duties with Foodora to any other person; and did not have their own customer base, business premises and insurances.

Because of this, the three were entitled to receive wages that are appropriate for an employee in the industry.

If the Federal Court rules against Foodora, it could have fines of up to $54,000 for each case. The court also has the power to order the company to back pay the workers the outstanding money.

Other food delivery gig economy companies, such as, Uber Eats and Deliveroo, are  using the independent contracting label to undercut wages as well. Uber found itself before the Central London Employment Tribunal in 2016 for the same practice and ordered to provide the same rights as regular employees.

There has been growing concern over the rise of the gig economy in Australia. Gig work is where people are engaged via the use of digital technology...

The Kingdom of the Dead

Source: Paul Stramer | By Anna Von Reitz

My recent article about the Queen occupying The Chair of the Estates really hit a nerve, and apparently most people in the English-speaking world were totally unaware that the Queen has been occupying a different office other than the one required by The Coronation Oath all these years----though that has to be apparent in retrospect, with or without John Anthony Hill.

I have examined the evidence, too, and it is incontrovertible.

The Queen took the Oath and three days later broke it, on the record. This had the effect of "killing" her role and rule as Christian Monarch and ended her obligation to fulfill the Public Law and her vows made in apparent Bad Faith to the people of the United Kingdom.

Instead of operating in the capacity of Elizabeth the Second, she has been operating in the "dead" corporate capacity of ELIZABETH II. Her Consort, Prince Philip has similarly been operating in a dead corporate capacity for sixty years.

Her chosen Office since then has involved creating bogus claims of abandonment against the land jurisdiction owed to the States and People of the actual United States, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere, while her husband's role has been to profit from the creation of equally bogus Cestui Que Vie estate trusts, Public Transmitting Utilities, Wards of the State, and similar "derivatives" that yield among other benefits profit from insurance and bottomry bond scams such as "Life Force Value Annuities" that are in fact owed to us and to our ancestors.

Every office and entity is dead or presumed to be dead in this entire matrix of falsehoods and illusions. This is very convenient for the criminals involved in profiteering from this, as the dead cannot defend themselves, cannot be heard in court and cannot bring any clai...

Ripples Garlinghouse: Four Miners in China Control Over 50% of Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed National"

The CEO of the global settlement platform Ripple has once again addressed the current state of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. Brad Garlinghouse spoke at the 2018 Stifel Cross Sector Insight Conference.

Garlinghouse: Blockchain Will Not Disrupt Banks

Garlinghouse was interviewed for the event by one of Stifels Tech Analysts, Lee Simpson. The Ripple CEO spoke in front of a large crowd at the InterContinental Boston. The Street reported that he acknowledged the current level of blockchain craziness and admitted that it would be an important step in the evolution of our system. However, he was ultimately dismissive of the tech innovations disruptive potential:

Blockchain will not disrupt banks Its a short-sighted view.

Garlinghouse went on to address the current number one cryptocurrency by market capitalisation, Bitcoin. He repeated a sentiment he expressed earlier this month when he said:

Bitcoin is not the panacea we thought it would be.

Evidently, Garlinghouse believes his own token, XRP, is more useful in terms of international settlements. He told the crowd that XRP was how liquidity will be managed in the future, describing it as the best digital asset for settlement. The CEO then went on to state the average transaction times of both Bitcoin and XRP. He told the crowd that XRP transactions could go through in as little as four seconds. For him, this will make his product more attractive to traditional banks:

Banks will use what is efficient and cheaper. And if you deliver a better product at a better price they will use it.

Relating to this, Garlinghouse then recounted a story about his dealings with an Australian bank. According to the executive, the CEO of the bank told him, that the best thing he did when creating Ripple and XRP was to leave both bit and coin out of the name.

Perhaps the most interesting portion of the interview came when Garlinghouse addressed Bitcoin once again. He stated that it was really controlled by China and claimed this to be a largely underrep...

In This One State, 1.08 Million Animals Were Experimented on, Dogs Included "IndyWatch Feed National"

Over 1.08 million animals were used for scientific experiments in total, and now that number is rising for the first time in supposedly three years in this state.

Think that its not that inhumane to experiment on mice or rodents? Well, these animals being experimented upon include koalas, pound dogs, rabbits, horses, monkeys and sheep.

This is happening in the Australian state of Victoria.

The official justification is that most of these animals were simply observed (does that mean a control group? Probably not), but other animals suffered through horrific, violent tests in the name of science, as phrased by an article from the Herald Sun.

This isnt in the name of science, its in the name of scientism and money.

One weird fact about this statistic is that the animals undergoing genetic modifications in particular rose tremendously, with 133,852 animals being used for 259 separate projects.

Will liberal lunacy split California into three states? "IndyWatch Feed National"

(INTELLIHUB) Liberal lunatics in California have come up with a new plan to split the state into three states which they believe will lower taxes and allow for better education and infrastructure and the bill is now on the ballot.

Such a bold move hasnt been done since 1863 when Virginia became divided which goes to show that the Democrats will try anything to garner more votes.

If passed, the bill would add two additional blue platforms to the region which would in turn gain the Democrats several extra electoral votes in the 2020 general election, considering the fact that California is primarily a blue state.

Embed from Getty Images

The Los Angeles Times reports:

The proposal aims to invoke Article IV, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, the provision guiding how an existing state can be divided into new states. Drapers plan calls for three new entities Northern California, California and Southern California which would roughly divide the population of the existing state into thirds.

Northern California would consist of 40 counties stretching from Oregon south to Santa Cruz County, then east to Merced and Mariposa counties. Southern California would begin with Madera County in the Central Valley and then wind its way along the existing states eastern and southern spine, comprising 12 counties and ultimately curving up the Pacific coast to grab San Diego and Orange counties.

Under the longshot proposal, Los Angeles County would anchor the six counties that retained the name California, a state that would extend northward along the coast to Monterey County. Drapers campaign website argues the three states would have reasonably similar household incomes and enough industries to produce their own viable economies.

Needless to say, the Dems are desperate to derail Trumps proverbial train which is now steaming along the tracks full steam ahead and is now perpetually fueled for the duration of the c...

Despite denials to the contrary, the legislation is manifestly aimed at alleged Chinese interference, although the scope of the proposed legislative provisions amounts to a sustained attack upon the ability of critics in the media and elsewhere to do their job of holding governments to account. The cynic might argue that such legislation is hardly necessary, as serious and sustained criticism of the policies of successive Australian governments, and certainly in the defence and national security areas has been conspicuously absent for many years both from the mainstream media and the Labor opposition. There has been a noticeable increase in the barrage of one-dimensional propaganda in recent decades, and a corresponding reduction in the presentation of fact based analysis. As equally insidious as the propaganda nature of much of what is termed news is the systematic ignoring of actual events. A stark illustration of this is in the

In November 1847 Clarence Valley grazier Thomas Coutts disgruntled by what he thought was a failure of local authority to act on his complaints, angry that his cattle herd had diminished over the space of eight years allegedly due to cattle theft and irritated at the size of his wages bill - all of which he blamed on local Aboriginal family groups living on 'his' property - decided to take action.

According to media reports at the time it soon became common knowledge that Coutts "had poisoned some aborigines" and this was eventually reported to the Commissioner of Crown Lands who, after visiting the group who had been given poisoned flour, hearing their account, arrested Thomas Coutts based on an affidavit sworn by one of his servants.

Back to the future as researchers invent real-life flux capacitor "IndyWatch Feed National"

By Gosia Kaszubska

The Back to the Future time machine runs on an imaginary flux capacitor but could the movie invention become reality?

In the popular movie franchise Back to the Future, an eccentric scientist creates a time machine that runs on a flux capacitor.

Now a group of actual physicists from Australia (RMIT University, University of Queensland) and Switzerland (ETH Zurich) have proposed a similar device that can break time-reversal symmetry.

While their flux capacitor doesnt enable time travel, its a critical step in future technologies like the quantum computer and could lead to better electronics for mobile phones and wifi.

The research, published in Physical Review Letters, proposes a new generation of electronic circulators devices that control the direction in which microwave signals move.

RMITs Professor Jared Cole said the device proposed in the research was built from a superconductor, in which electricity can flow without electrical resistance.

We propose two different possible circuits, one of which resembles the iconic three-pointed-star design of the flux capacitor that we see in the Back to the Future films, Cole, from the School of Science, said.

In this circuit, quantum tubes of magnetic flux can move around a central capacitor by a process known as quantum tunneling, where they overcome classically insurmountable obstacles.

The combination of magnetic fields and electric charges leads to what the physicists call broken time-reversal symmetry.

This effect does not allow us to actually travel back in time, Professor Tom Stace, from the University of Queensland, said.

Instead, it means that signals circulate around the circuit in only one direction, much like cars on a roundabout, he said.

Such a device can be used to isolate parts of an experimental apparatus from one other, which is critical when the individual parts are extremely sensitive quantum systems.

Lead author Dr Clemens Mueller, ETH Zurich, said the device was a crucial component for next generation technologies, including the long sought-after quantum computer.

Our research makes an important step towards scaling up this technology, where researchers need to precisely direct control and measurement signals around a quantum computer.

Ellsberg, Berners Lee and Assange Friends of Democracy "IndyWatch Feed National"

For ordinary citizens, there has always been a restriction on Americas First Amendment, regarding freedom of speech. That freedom is limited to what they are permitted to know, by those who have the superior freedom to withhold information from public debate, or deliver false information. Perhaps the greatest lie of all is that this is in the public interest, and a matter of national security.

Daniel Ellsberg was the first person with this level of privilege, to expose (via the Pentagon Papers) the catastrophic public harm his governments lies were causing. Shortly thereafter, the Vietnam War ended, President Nixon was impeached and the extraordinary charge of espionage laid on Ellsberg, along with theft and conspiracy (a total maximum sentence of 115 years) were dismissed.

I recall Julian Assange saying some years back, that his mother Christine had told him about Daniel Ellsberg when he was a little boy. Wow. Ive met a lot of adults recently who havent heard of him nor of Sir Tim Berners Lee for that matter, who gave us the world wide web, for free, and enabled one and all to take that quantum leap in human communication we call the digital age.

The point of Wikileaks, which Assange would go on to create as a young adult, was to offer whistleblowers like Ellsberg a safe way to continue exposing facts that were in the public interest, but which were being misrepresented or withheld from public debate.

Assange got a lot of support and participation in that endeavour: from citizens, who most crucially disseminated the facts; from many academics; from journalists and politicians; and from the legal community. For the latter, I suppose it sounded very much like the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. We should applaud the organisations outstanding diligence in fact-checking the information it received. After 10 years, its reliability still stands at 100% and despite the 2011 claims by US politicians, of Wikileaks having blood on their hands, no blood has been sacrificed for the delivery of this free public service.

I have no doubt that Wikileaks will survive, but its really looking like curtains for the founder and editor-in-chief. Assange has not been charged with any crime in relation to his work with Wikileaks, but it seems an espionage charge is pending, s...

Queensland delivers marriage equality for transgender people "IndyWatch Feed National"

Transgender people in Queensland will have the dignity of living their true lives, following a significant birth certificate reform passed by the State Parliament tonight.

The Queensland Government has removed an unnecessary and discriminatory barrier, which forced married trans people to divorce their spouse in order to change the gender marker on their birth certificate.

Brisbanes Roz Dickson transitioned at age 47 and wanted to stay married to her wife Kathy. Roz and Kathy have been together for 28 years and have two children.

I want to stay married, particularly for our children. When I transitioned to live as a woman I became happier in myself, a more fulfilled and content person to live with and a better parent to our young children. This law means I will finally be able to change my birth certificate to reflect who I am, said Ms Dickson.

This change will ensure transgender people are not forced to choose between divorcing the person they love and having identification that doesnt reflect who they are.

Queensland is the third state to introduce the amendment after marriage equality was realised last year. Trans and gender diverse advocates continue to advocate for similar changes in the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia, as well as removing other outdated and unfair barriers to accessing accurate birth certificates. South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and New South Wales have already reformed their birth certificate laws to remove this requirement.

Anna Brown, Director of Legal Advocacy at the Human Rights Law Centre, celebrated the laws which will finally allow marriage equality for transgender Queenslanders and their families.

Our communities, families, doctors and schools already support marriage equality, and its time our laws did as well. This is a small but significant change that will allow transgender people to be free to be who they are, while maintaining their commitment to the person they fell in love with, said Ms Brown.

The Queensland Government is currently reviewing laws which only allow people to change the gender on their birth certificate in very limited circumstances.

Transgender people face p...

Accused Duke University Student Gets His Degree, Four Years After Unfair Expulsion "IndyWatch Feed National"

A Duke University student has finally been given the degree he earned four years ago. Lewis McLeod* was accused of sexual assault one semester before he was set to graduate. The alleged incident took place in the fall of 2013 following a night of drinking, as so many of these accusations do. McLeod maintained the sex was consensual, while the accuser claimed she was too drunk to consent.

The female student who accused McLeod went to police, but after an investigation, they declined to file a report. So the accuser went to Dukes student conduct office and filed a report. At the time, Dukes misconduct policy stated that an individual incapacitated due to alcohol cannot freely consent to sex, but that being intoxicated does not diminish ones responsibility to obtain consent. In practice, however, being intoxicated, rather than incapacitated, appears to be all the university needs to find one student responsible for sexual assault.

McLeod claims the female student was coherent the night of their encounter, and its impossible to know what happened because their claims were never adjudicated in courts of law, which consider evidence, examine testimony, presume innocence, and have many other procedures many centuries of experience have shown help lead to justice.

McLeod Was Punished Without Being Proven Guilty

Three days before McLeods final exams, he was expelled from Duke. He filed a lawsuit on May 2, 2014, and a judge blocked the school from expelling him, but not from withholding his degree. McLeod lost a lucrative job opportunity that had been waiting for him after he received his diploma. Because he was not a U.S. citizen, he was also sent home to Australia, where he waited for the day his lawsuit would go to trial.

The trial date was repeatedly pushed back for various reasons, until February 2018 when Duke settled with McLeod, finally giving him his degree and expunging his record. As author and professor K.C. Johnson noted on Twitter, however, the damage has already been done: Dukes actions: (a) cost him a job; and (b) forced him to leave the country [because] he lost his visa.

The facts of the case are murky, with the accuser texting friends and an ex-boyfriend after the encounter (which would suggest she wa...

20 years in jail "IndyWatch Feed National"

This isnt just a dramatic headline. We wish it was. No, in actual fact it is referring to penalties that citizens could be faced with for nonviolent actions of peaceful protest, under new proposed changes to the Espionage Act which would declare a wide range of peaceful activities as sabotage.

For those following this debate at a distance there was a suite of three bills introduced in recent months, ostensibly to limit foreign interference in our democratic system. They are:

Instead it has been a trojan horse of wildly over the top, and sloppy legislation that had civil society up in arms about the impacts.

Large non-government organisations have focused much of their energy on the Electoral Amendment Act and Foreign Interference Bill. The third bill, the Espionate and Foreign Influence legislation which had a report on it tabled last week, is the one that has been left out of the mix on most of the public debate.

And it is a horror show.

You can read about it in detail here, and there is a very detailed overview here. The issue is that the Labor party are terrified of being seen to be weak on national security which now means a whole bunch of new stuff.

The short version

The devil is in the detail. The re-defining of some terms has massive ramifications for peaceful protest, particularly in an era of corporate dominance in the political realm.

Sabotage has been taken to mean .

National security does not currently have a clear definition in current legislation but for the purpose

So does that mean, if some peaceful religious leaders block a road in protest to stop the Adani coal mine, a foreign owned company that instead of a simple obstruction of traffic charge which they would cop on the chin as a reasonable consequence for an act of principle that they could be charged with sabotage and risk a jail sentence of 15 years to life?

What about the peace activists who swam onto Swan Island naval barracks in an act of nonviolent resistance to Australias involvment in the ongoing war on (of) terror. Its commonwealth land.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Sign this petition. They need to know there is wide ranging dissent on this bill. As other organisations are focused on the other legislation, we are specifically focused on this one.

And SHARE it. If you are involved in grassroots activism, talk to your friends about this. Most people have no idea what is about to hit us!

Get on the phone tell your MP to pull the bill. People are using the by-elections as an excuse to push this legislation through quickly that will do permanent damage to our democracy and ability ato advocate for a safe climate, and fo...

Eugenics never went away "IndyWatch Feed National"

Our civilization has always been deeply flawed and this is a continuing problem.  It follows that we then depend on government intervention to resolve perceived flaws and those structures are easily manipulated in unacceptable ways.  This is one of the more obvious examples.

First, though, i do want to say that the tool of summary sterilization is not the actual problem.  In fact there are ample situations were it can be effectively applied.   The problem remains as always in the process which is immediately open to the application of self interest.

Under no circumstance was the case described here anything close to the intentions of the framers of the laws in question.  Yet it was still far too easily abused.  We have seen the same problem with foster programs and their like.

Today we have the ongoing horror of abortion which is now far removed from claimed intent.  Put another way, you do not release a hundred killers from death row because one may be innocent. You simply change out the actual practice until you have something that works well enough and is perhaps corrective.

Corrective, sadly, may mean eligibility for compensation.  Until we get our civilization right we may have to live with that.

.
Eugenics never went away

Thought eugenics died with the Nazis? Think again: the eugenic programme of sterilising the unfit continues even today

FLUORIDE & ACNE: IS FLUORODERMA CAUSING YOUR CYSTIC BREAKOUTS? "IndyWatch Feed National"

This article looks at the emerging evidence between fluoride and acne and whether this widespread toxin could be the cause of your cystic breakouts. *SPOILER ALERT* If youre living in Australia, USA, New Zealand, Hong King or Singapore then the answer is most likely YES!

fluoride & acne: is fluoroderma causing your cystic breakouts?

About a year ago I was browsing the internet looking for research and evidence that certain toothpastes could trigger, or at least aggravate, flare ups of perioral dermatitis. I had no idea that this research session would totally change my opinion on some of the key causes of acne!
During this research session I came across a website called The Cellulite Investigation, a blog written by author and ex-FBI Investigator (you know the research on this site is going to be insanely detailed and evidence-based if an FBI investigator is behind it), by Melissa Gallico. What started as an investigation into why Melissa struggled with cellulite, led to the pioneering discovery that excess fluoride exposure clogs up the lymphatic system and causes hormone imbalances that can trigger cystic acne. Melissa actually discovered so much information on the topic that wasnt really accessible she decided to write a book on the fluoride/acne connection called The Hidden Cause of Acne.

Meeting on the Island of Death From Behind: The Kim-Trump Summit "IndyWatch Feed National"

Everything about this summit is in the showy warm-up run.  I am on my way to Singapore, tweets US President Donald J. Trump, where we have a chance to achieve a truly wonderful result for North Korea and the World.  Such descriptions from Americas ever hustling television president tend to become child like, whether glowingly or indignantly. On this occasion, he was glowing.  It will be certainly an exciting day and I know that Kim Jong-un will work very hard to do something that has rarely been done before.

Detractors and sceptics were fretting in the woodwork.  Former US Representative from Florida David Jolly was one: Under scrutiny from loyal allies, Trump chooses to strengthen his alliance with Putin and Kim Jong Un.  The slip into psychobabble becomes easy: Notwithstanding geopolitical consequences, it demonstrates a grown man unable to hold his own among peers, so instead seek affirmation among adversaries willing to provide it.

Holding the summit on Sentosa Island suggested a deliciously disturbing twist. Now a resort destination drawing some 20 million visitors a year dotted by theme parks, beaches and Singaporean state propaganda, it had been known as Pulau Belakang Mati, island of death from behind.  During the Second World War, summary executions of members of the Singaporean Chinese population were common on the island, as were instances of brutality towards British and Australian servicemen after their surrender to the Japanese in 1942.

This past did not distract. The two hefty figures approached before their flags.  Pressed the flesh.  Exchanged remarks.  Before them stood two flags displayed with equal relevance (the free world types would have quaked), and a display that preceded an initial discussion between the two leaders.  Importantly, that discussion was unencumbered by the machinery that has historically done as much to scupper smooth sailing than anything else.  Only the two interpreters accompanying them at the initial stage will ever know.

The horror that this television, social media tart of a figure might pull off a durable peace venture is not something that is missed by journalists and pundits.  The press conference was filled with baffled queries:  What about Kims appalling human rights record? What of the actual details, the sort usually left for the mechanists to worry about after the photo snaps are taken.

This did not bother Trump. He had a show to perform, and accordingly ran it.  There is no limit to what North Korea can achieve when it gives up its nuclear weapons and embraces commerce and engages with the rest of the world.

For Trump, reminders were important, and praise directed when required: the....

Boots on the Ground Reporting from Tucson After Days in the Desert & Border Patrol Agent Wounded by Cartel [videos]

JUNE 12, 2018

Source: Starship Earth: The Big Picture

Here is more testimony from people who actually WERE and ARE in Tucsonvolunteering and capturing it on video. VOP has been vindicated.

After listening to and watching many videos, I am very pleased that Operation: Backyard Brawl/Operation: Child Shield is taken seriously and handled by professionals with experience in crime scenes, border patrol, Mexican drug cartels, human trafficking, and more. Unfortunately, that professional assistance is not from the Tucson police department.

We DO have testimony from retired LEOs who verify that the sites the VOPs found are definitely consistent with previously uncovered human trafficking camps.

The border patrol shooting had nothing to do with the VOP outfit except for the fact that their teams are combing the desert and disrupting the corridors of drug and human traffickers. The FBI is coming right away to investigate this incident and the lies and disinfo continue. We hope the BP agent will be alright.

The Veterans On Patrol have now been coached by retired law enforcement on how to protect a possible crime scene and collect evidence. This is a huge endeavor and volunteers are welcome. Those who want to help but cannot be on site may provide donations. Gas cards are particularly welcome as they have a lot of territory to cover in the lower sectors of Southern Arizona.

Child sex rings and Human trafficking affect everyone in every country. Lewis tells us they even have folks flying up from Australia who want to be part of this. Its turning into something exciting and incredibly worthwhile. This could be a catalyst for something even bigger.

ROCK MEETS FLAMENCO SATURDAY JUNE 16 7PM FREE ENTRY "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

Honing their craft as buskers in Melbournes Bourke Street Mall, Malcura have captivated the Australian public with their distinctive sound, which fuses Flamenco instrumentation with Latin rhythms and a rock n roll mentality. Malcura create music for the soul; its a feeling as much as it is a sound.

Malcura, the bands independent debut album, was released with a launch show on the Federation Square Main Stage in February 2016, followed by two East-Coast tours and extensive busking performances in support of the release. The album received tremendous support from Fiesta Jazz on PBS 106.7FM and high rotation on community radio nationwide, selling thousands of copies and receiving a nomination for the award of 2016s Best Global/Reggae Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards.

Malcura have been packing out venues and dance-floors across Australia and have also performed at a number of major Australian festivals, including the Illawarra Folk Festival (NSW), Wallaby Creek (QLD), Bendigo Blues and Roots, St. Kilda Festival and Tanglewood NYE Festival. Their performances are alive with spirit, weaving through intricate arrangements with virtuoso musicianship and gusto.

Malcura have performed alongside the likes of Tijuana Cartel, Tash Sultana, The Pierce Brothers, Clowns, Kenta Hayashi (Japan), and Dallas Frasca; and even joined Mexican guitar heroes Rodrigo y Gabriela on stage at the Palais Theatre for an unexpected guest appearance that was met with a standing ovation. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity served as the inspiration behind the trios single Palais and its stunning cinematic music video, which was filmed inside the Palais Theatre.

The much-anticipated second album from Malcura is currently in production and appears set to attract the attention of music fans across the globe. The band ensures it will be even more textured, daring and infectious than their first.

Catch Malcura for a free show at Byron Bay Brewery, this Saturday, from 7pm.

Byron seeks exemption from govt holiday-let policy "IndyWatch Feed Northcoast"

Paul Bibby

Byron Shire Council is seeking an exemption from the state governments new short-term holiday-letting laws in a last ditch bid to preserve its policy of restricting short-term letting in residential areas.

However, short-term holiday letting advocates are pushing for even less regulation of the industry, and some are openly discussing strategies to avoid the 180-day cap the government is proposing.

On June 4, the NSW government announced a series of long awaited proposed changes to short-term letting rules that will have significant implications for property owners and renters across the region.

Most notably, the new laws explicitly state that short-term holiday letting is allowed in residential areas.

This significantly undermines Byron Councils policy of cracking down on this practice on the basis that it is an unauthorised use that takes much-needed housing stock out of the rental market.

The new laws pave the way for an increase in short-term holiday letting in the shire by giving homeowners and investors a green light to let out their homes and granny flats without fear of prosecution by the council.

Under the new laws, Council may have the power to prevent property owners from letting out their houses or flats for more than 180 days per year if they dont live there; however, its unclear how it will preserve community amenity and stem the holiday-letting tide.

Greens councillor Michael Lyon told The Echo Council was not going down without a fight.

He said it would apply for a special exemption from the laws, which would allow Council to implement its own policy.

Theres a small window of opportunity to seek an exemption from the new policy from the minister for planning, Cr Lyon said.

Council staff are seeking to make contact with the minister to get an urgent meeting about it.

The negative impact of this policy on housing supply and rents is unquestionable.

The shires registered accommodation providers those with specific approval to run tourist-accommodation businesses are also hitting back.

They have taken to social media urging those who are unhappy with the absu...
