The recent French 'webinar' on UAP optical features/signatures "IndyWatch Feed National"

A global issue

Sometimes people forget that the study of UAP is a global issue, and not just centred in the United States of America. I have previously reported on the work of the SIGMA2 Technical Commission of L'Association Aeronautique et Astronautique de France (3AF for short) which is a learned body of the aerospace industry in France. In the clamour surrounding the U.S. Congressional activity re UAP, an event was held on 16 June 2023, both in person in Paris, France and via the internet, put on by SIGMA2.The webinar was organised to discuss the topic of the optical features/signatures of UAP, in order to learn what data exists and how best to collect future data.

The webinar was opened by Luc Dini, Chair of SIGMA2, and followed by an address by Alain Juilet,  former head of the French Foreign Intelligence Service; who two years ago, revealed his interest in UAP.

Speakers

A number of individuals then provided input on the webinar's theme of the optical features/signatures of UAP. Namely;

Dr. Beatriz Villarroel, on "Searches for Extraterrestrial Probes near the Earth with the VASCO and EXOPROBE Projects."

All The Presidents Mess: Read The Actual Trump Indictments (So Far) "IndyWatch Feed National"

For the third time in as many months, Donald J Trump, the 45th president of the United States of America, has been charged with a crime.

Well, dozens of crimes, actually.

Trump is the first president in US history to face a criminal indictment before, during or after a term in office. Currently, he is facing 84 separate charges, across three distinct criminal matters:

  • Allegations that he illegally paid hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, and disguised the funds as something other than campaign expenditures;
  • Allegations that he illegally withheld top secret and classified documents, and showed those documents to people without appropriate clearances, and additionally that he obstructed justice by ordering staff to delete video surveillance footage of attempts to conceal those documents from government officials; and
  • Allegations that he conspired with at least six others to fraudulently alter the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, and prevent the inauguration of the rightfully elected president Joe Biden.

A fourth indictment, from Georgia, is expected in the coming weeks. Its expected to detail separate and specific allegations of electoral fraud, meaning Trump will be facing four separate criminal trials in the lead-up to him contesting the 2024 presidential election.

Thus far, those pending criminal matters appear not only to have not dented Trumps standing in the eyes of many Americans, but theyve actually bolstered his electoral fortunes, with numerous polls indicating bumps in his popularity every time hes been charged.

According to US polling gurus FiveThirtyEight, just over half the population of US voters have a negative impression of Trump, while

Currently, Trump and President Biden are neck-and-neck in...

Dumped tyres a growing problem "IndyWatch Feed National"

The 10 per cent of tyres not accounted for is causing a lot of trouble. Photo supplied.

Australia on average generates over 450,000 tonnes of used tyres annually, and after the end of lockdowns this figure is growing. Some estimate 500,000 tonnes of used tyres were generated in 2021-22.

Not all these tyres are recycled, and off-road tyres are a particular problem. National used tyre recovery rates have stalled at under 70 per cent, falling to 64 per cent in 2021-22, the lowest level in years. Persistently low recovery of off-the-road (OTR) tyres is a major contributor to Australias stalling recovery rate, with little evidence to suggest this is going to change anytime soon.

90 per cent of passenger, bus and truck tyres recovered

Australia can be proud of the close to 90 per cent of passenger, bus and truck tyres the nation recovers, but reducing the remaining 10 per cent gap is critical to achieving national waste reduction goals, reducing carbon emissions and deterring tyre eco-hazards in the future.

Data shows that unrecovered tyres (around 5.7 million unrecovered passenger tyres alone) pose an unacceptable eco-hazard and, until we eliminate illegal dumping, stockpiling and rogue waste operators, we run the risk of going backwards.

Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) CEO Lina Goodman, says theres a misguided and, arguably, dangerous belief, that we have done enough in the recovery of passenger, bus and truck tyres. That the job is done. That there is nothing to see here, but this couldnt be further from the truth.

Covid cover-up: Wuhan lab leak suspicions, Anthony Fauci and how the science was silenced "IndyWatch Feed National"

Dr Anthony Fauci: This was a reputational risk to him and his institute, says Dr Robert Kadlec, Faucis boss.
Americas top infectious diseases adviser, Anthony Fauci, deliberately decided to downplay suspicions from scientists that Covid-19 came from a laboratory to protect his reputation and deflect from the risky coronavirus research his agency had funded, according to his boss, one of the most senior US health officials during the pandemic.

In an exclusive interview, Robert Kadlec former assistant secretary for preparedness and response at the US Department of Health told The Weekend Australian that he, Dr Fauci and National Institutes of Health director Francis Collins privately discussed how to turn down the temperature on accusations against China in the early days of the pandemic while they were trying to encourage Beijing to co-operate and share a sample of the virus.

But the senior US health official who worked for George W. Bush and Donald Trump and went on to lead American efforts to develop a Covid-19 vaccine said Dr Fauci mostly kept his knowledge of virologists concerns about a lab leak from Wuhan to himself.

The Weekend Australian revealed in 2021 that the National Institutes of Health and other US agencies funded 65 scientific projects at the Wuhan Institute of Virology over the past decad...

UK and EU FTAs seeking to restrict Indias lifeline production of affordable medicine to Global South "IndyWatch Feed National"

4 August, 2023: India is currently negotiating Trade Agreements (FTAs) with the UK and EU, among other countries, which include demands for stricter intellectual property rules, threatening Indias production of generic medicines and role as pharmacy of the world.

India is one of the largest scale producers of affordable generic medicines and accounts for a fifth of global supply. It is also the largest supplier of generic medicines to Africa in 2018, and is essential source of medicines for the Global South.

MSF and other health organisations have said their ability to treat some of the most vulnerable communities is reliant on generic medicines such as these. Indias production of generic HIV and AIDS medicines drove down the cost of treatment during the HIV and AIDS pandemic, and saved countless lives.

However, India can now produce these lifesaving medicines at affordable prices because it has strictly interpreted the 1995 Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) Agreement which gives 20-year monopolies to charge high prices for new medicines which enables it to produce cheaper generic medicines as soon as patents have expired.

The UK, EU and US, pressured by their giant pharmaceutical companies, have used bilateral and regional trade agreements to push for TRIPS-Plusrules which delay the production of cheaper generic medicines beyond 20 years. India has so far resisted these pressures.

The leaked intellectual property chapter of the India-UK FTA shows that the UK has tabled TRIPS -plus provisions that threaten to tighten the screws on Indias production, supply and export of affordable generic medicines beyond even the TRIPS agreement obligations.

The Thunberg Effect: Why Some Australians Overheat At The Mere Mention Of Swedish Climate Activist "IndyWatch Feed National"

If youre going to campaign to save the world, then best do it with a strong command of the English language. Dean Frenkel weighs in on the fury that surrounds a young Swedish climate activist.

Why do Australian conservatives bristle at Greta Thunberg? It begins with who she is, not what shes saying.

They are insulted by the audacity of her age a protester who became a worldwide superstar at the age of 15; theyre disoriented by her lack of regard for social niceties and particularly dislike that shes given airtime and taken seriously.

They dont like her tone and intensity. How dare you? They are perturbed that heavy messages are being delivered by a diminutive 411 European female and if nasty medicine has to be delivered, theyd prefer it come from a middle-aged economist wearing a grey suit. They expect teenagers to be more obsessed with fingernails, fashion and Billie Eilish than climate politics.

In their minds Thunberg is hectoring them. It can be challenging being lectured to by someone of the stature of David Attenborough but when it is done by an adolescent, that really is too much. They think its ridiculous that an audacious teenager can know better than their years of experience.

And of course they are stung that she speaks so well, even though they consciously attribute other reasons for their feelings. Thunberg is a Swedish resident who speaks English as a second language. Her speech is far more skillful than most mono-lingual Australians and shes not alone. Many 2nd generation immigrants speak better English than 6th generation Australians.

Yet these Australians are not jealous of Thunbergs speech-competence nor do they necessarily want to speak better than her, instead they have a deep-seated bias against people who speak too well. With regards to rhetoric, they adopt a strange type of wabi sabi (Japanese appreciation of imperfection): if you speak too well, you fail the pub test and cant be trusted. Conversely, if speech imperfections dominate your speech manner, you are more likely be celebrated, trusted and enjoy the empathy of others.

Only in Australia.

But dont Australians like calling a spade-a-spade? Australian mythology has been built around the contrarianism of Ned Kelly but times have changed. Thunberg has too much chutzpah for them. In our strange new world of male cosmetics, swollen lips, bum fillers and virtual surreality, Greta Thunberg is authentic which is attractive to some but terrifying to othe...

South Africa Make Womens World Cup History with Last-gasp Win over Italy

Kgatlana strikes two minutes into stoppage time to send South Africa into the knockout round for the first time, setting up a last 16 clash with the Netherlands.

South Africa's forward Thembi Kgatlana celebrates scoring her team's third goal [Marty Melville/AFP]

2 Aug 2023

Thembi Kgatlana scored a last-gasp winner to give South Africa their first-ever Womens World Cup win as they defeated Italy 3-2, qualifying for the last-16 round of the tournament and sending the Italians home.

Striker Kgatlana struck two minutes into stoppage time on Wednesday to set up a clash with the Netherlands in Sydney on Sunday and broke the hearts of the Italians, who needed just a draw to progress.

Italy had appeared to salvage the draw they needed when Arianna Caruso scored from a corner in the 74th minute but were left to rue what could have been after a series of late missed chances.

They fought like warriors, said an emotional coach Desiree Ellis, who was a founding member of the South African womens side in 1993.

They fought like the heroines that we know that they are. They fought to be historically remembered and theyve made history not just getting our first win, but going to the round of 16 and that is freaking amazing.

The Italians had opened the scoring when Karabo Dhlamini tripped Italy forward Chiara Beccari just inside the box in the 10th minute and Caruso put the penalty into the bottom left corner of the net.

South Africa equalised in the 32nd minute through an own goal from Benedetta Orsi, who did not check where goalkeeper Francesca Durante was before making a back pass.

Banyana Banyana went ahead for the first time in the 67th minute when Kgatlanas neat inside pass found Hildah Magaia free behind the defensive line and the forward swept it into the net.

Caruso grabbed her second of the match seven minutes later from a corner when the ball caught her hip in a goalmouth scramble and cannoned into the bottom right corner of the net.

Impairment based drug testing bill introduced for medicinal cannabis "IndyWatch Feed National"

The use of medicinal cannabis is now legal but users are at risk of losing their licence if they test positive even if they are not driving while impaired. Photo supplied

NSW MLC Jeremy Buckingham introduced a bill to NSW Parliament that would ensure that medicinal cannabis users no longer had to fear losing their driving licence if they tested positive for cannabis but were not impaired by the drug at the time of driving.

The Road Transport Amendment (Medicinal Cannabis) Bill 2023 was introduced into the Legislative Council (Upper House) last night and seeks to amend an anomaly where medicinal cannabis is the only legally available prescription drug penalised by police in roadside drug testing operations says Mr Buckingham.

He stressed that the defence would only be available to patients who obtained and used cannabis as a result of a prescription and under medical supervision, and who were not impaired at the time of testing.

The issue here is that cannabis remains detectable long after any impairment to driving has ceased, explained Mr Buckingham.

Falana Warns ECOWAS Leaders Against Attacking Niger, Seeks Stringent Sanctions on Niger Military

By Yetunde Ayobami Ojo

02 August 2023 | 4:04 am

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has urged the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to impose more stringent sanctions on Niger Republic and adopt measures to make them work, particularly given the intransigence of the coup plotters.

This comes two days after ECOWAS declared the countrys airspace a no-flight zone and gave the military junta in Niger one week to cede power with a warning that the use of force was not ruled out.

The 15-member ECOWAS demanded immediate release and reinstatement of Nigers elected president, Mohamed Bazoum, who had been held by the military since Wednesday.

But Falana, while reacting to the steps taken by the West African bloc, said apart from suspending Niger from ECOWAS, the leaders of the sub-regional body should refrain from attending international conferences with coup plotters as was recently witnessed during the recently-concluded Russia-Africa Summit held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

According to a statement by Tayo Soyemi of Falana and Falana Chambers, the human rights lawyer gave the advice in his paper titled, Unconstitutional Change of Governments: the Role of Bar Associations, delivered, yesterday, at a two-day conference of the West African Bar Association (WABA) in Accra, Ghana.

The paper reads in part: Last week, Gen Abdourahmane Tchiani, the head of the presidential guards unit, overthrew the Mohamed Bazoum-led administration and declared himself Nigers new ruler.

In a prompt response to the embarrassing development, the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS) gave the junta a seven-day ultimatum to step down from power and restore constitutional rule. ECOWAS leaders threatened to take all measures necessary to restore constitutional order and that if its demands were not met, such measures may include the use of force.

While the resolve of the ECOWAS leaders to re...

Concerns raised over federal Labors disinformation bill "IndyWatch Feed National"

A legal advocacy group has raised concerns over a proposed bill by federal Labor, that if it were to become law, would arm a government department with extraordinary coercive powers to monitor and enforce an industry standard of misinformation and disinformation on digital platforms.

The Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2023 is on public exhibition until August 6.

According to federal Labor, the proposed powers would enable the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to gather information from digital platform providers, or require them to keep certain records about matters regarding misinformation and disinformation.

And should an [enforceble] code of practice be deemed ineffective in combatting misinformation and disinformation on digital platforms, the proposed law would allow the ACMA to create and enforce an industry standard (a stronger form of regulation).

Within the Victorian Bars submission to the Law Council regarding the bill, they write, The Bill arms the ACMA with extraordinary coercive powers that can be exercised against any person who might have information or documents relevant to the existence of, among other things, misinformation or disinformation on a digital platform service.

Suspected authors or disseminators of alleged misinformation are obvious targets for the exercise of such powers. That makes this part of the Bill somewhat unique within its overall scheme here the Bill is concerned with the responsibilities of individuals, rather than services providers.

Unlevel playing field

Additionally, the Victorian Bar says the law would create an unlevel playing field between governments and other speakers.

They write: Any view authorised by the government is, by statutory definition, not misinformation, however false or misleading it might be. Only information that is not authorised by government is capable of being misinformation as defined.

That double standard is illiberal, and disadvantages critics of government in comparison with a governm...

The Palestine Laboratory - How Israel exports the technology of occupation around the world "IndyWatch Feed National"

A sad and sordid record of how the light unto the nations became the purveyor of the means of violence and brutal repression from Guatemala to Myanmar and wherever else the opportunity arose.

Noam Chomsky

On Tuesday 4 July the Australian Institute of International Affairs NSW hosted an address by Antony Loewenstein, author and political analyst, on the Israeli governments use of its presence in Palestine to develop an international market in surveillance technology. As background, Loewenstein observed that, when he was growing up in Melbourne in the years after World War II, Israel was seen as deserving unqualified support: Israel, Zionism and Judaism had been seen as pretty much the same thing. But there was now increasing scrutiny among Jews of what is happening in Palestine under Israeli occupation. In his view, the existence of a Jewish state discriminates, by definition, against non-Jews. Media coverage, nevertheless, continued to simplify the situation as a two-way battle between Israelis and Palestinians.

Since its establishment, Israel (as detailed in his recently-published book The Palestine Laboratory) had been occupying increasing areas of Palestine and in that time had developed a range of tools and technologies for maintaining the occupation smart walls, facial recognition, biometric data designed to control and divide Palestinians. Technology such as Pegasus spyware, manufactured by the Israeli NSO group, was now exported throughout the world; it enabled governments to control mobile phones, emails and photos. And this was the tip of the iceberg. Israel had battle-tested these new technologies on its five million Palestinian captive population. Palestinians were powerless in this situation to affect Israels role: they were notionally governed by the corrupt Palestinian Authority but real power lay with the Israeli occupiers.

Israel had been an arms exporter to apartheid South...

How to Take Care of Your Pets During Moving Day "IndyWatch Feed National"

Moving to a new place can be an extremely exciting chapter in our lives. However, it can also be a quite stressful time for our beloved pets. In some cases, it may even become dangerous if your furry friends arent given the proper care that they require during transit.

Whether youre relocating within the same country or embarking on an overseas adventure, its essential to take the necessary precautions to ensure your pets well-being and safety during the moving process.

In this guide, were going to discuss four valuable tips to ensure a smooth and safe transition for your pets on a moving day.

  1. Taking Your Pet to The Vet

Before the big move, its important to visit your veterinarian for a thorough check-up. A clean bill of health will give you peace of mind during the move and rule out any health concerns that you may have about your pet.

Additionally, a check-up might also catch developing health problems that your pet might be suffering from. By catching health issues early, youll be able to prepare in advance and organise everything that your pet may need during the move.Your vet can also provide advice on how to manage your pets stress levels. They might also recommend suitable calming techniques or pet supplements if necessary.

  2. Finding a Pet Sitter or Accommodation Ahead of Time

    House Removals Adelaide

During a hectic day, it might not be possible to give your pets the attention that they need. If youre unable to look after them during the move, consider finding a reliable pet sitter.A familiar environment with someone trustworthy will keep your pets comfortable and secure while you handle various aspects of the move.

If you dont have anyone that can look after your pet, you can also book a pet-friendly boarding establishment in advance.

  3. Taking Care of Necessary Paperwork for International Travel

If you need to travel internationally, there is essential paperwork that you need to take care of and regulations that you must comply with for your pet&#...

Investigation confirms asbestos fragments across Helensburgh mountain bike track "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

AN investigation has confirmed the presence of asbestos fragments right across the Helensburgh Mountain Bike Track.

The Helensburgh Mountain Bike Park has been closed as a precautionary measure to allow for an investigation after asbestos was found at the site earlier this year. As a consequence, the park has been closed since May 4 after concerns were raised with Wollongong City.

The information was provided to Council by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, which had confirmed the presence of asbestos containing material within a dirt jump structure on their adjoining land.

Prepare ahead of a potential dangerous bushfire season "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

NORTHERN suburbs residents, particularly those in bushland settings, are urged to prepare and mitigate risks ahead of a potential dangerous bushfire season this summer.

This years bushfire season has the potential to be especially dangerous according to a UNSW fire expert. Professor Guan Yeoh, director of the ARC Training Centre in Fire Retardant Materials and Safety Technologies, says recent weather patterns have created conditions that increase the chance of major bushfires.

Those include three years of increased rain which have promoted rapid vegetation growth, followed by a more recent very dry winter creating a tinderbox scenario. That means any incident of lightning, which is the cause of around 50 per cent of bushfires in Australia, could easily spark rapidly spreading fires over wide areas.

In addition, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has recently forecast that the southern hemisphere is entering into an El Nio climate cycle and has warned of a surge in global temperatures.

In the last few years, we have had a lot of rain and floods and because of that there has been a lot of...

A large number of states are desperate to gain Israeli knowledge to repress their own people and surveil unwanted dissidents, journalists or human rights activists.

From Rwanda to Myanmar and Bangladesh, Israeli repressive tech has become ubiquitous in the 21st century.

Jewish critics of Israel are also growing in number and stridency across the Western world as Israel accelerates its path towards a potential full-blown theocracy.

Will triumphant messianic far right destabilize Israel? "IndyWatch Feed National"

The Israeli government voted this week to nullify the ability of the Supreme Court to block unconstitutional laws. This has provoked criticism around the world, including many Jews, and it has seriously divided Israeli society. Police joined by far-right gangs are physically attacking those they see as opponents. basic democratic rights are at stake. There has been a wave of strikes and protests. Some 10,000 military reservists have refused to report for service. H Scott Prosterman writes about all of this (Informed Comment 27 July 2023) and draws parallels with what has been going on in the United States. He doesnt criticise the ideology of Zionism, but he does take issue with the rise of the toxic bigoted version.

The Knesset passed a law preventing the Supreme Court from striking down laws they find unreasonable in light of the countrys basic laws and from nixing governmental appointments on grounds of corruption.

Israel judicial changes: Doctors and medical workers on strike

Video from Al Jazeera English

This is the culmination of a campaign by Israeli PM Benjamin Bibi Netanyahu, and Ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezelal Smotrich to consolidate their far-right wing coalition power in perpetuity, and to pass anti-democratic legislation to ensure that aim.

This step would aid Netanyahus fight against graft and corruption charges and upend democratic norms in Israel. It would also open the door legislative annexation of Palestinian territories in violation of international law.

If a majority in the US Congress took similar steps in these polarized times a civil war could erupt here that would make January 6 look like a picnic.

Migrant workers and unions call for immediate whistle-blower protections to counter systemic exploitation "IndyWatch Feed National"

The Migrant Workers Centre, Unions NSW, the Human Rights Law Centre, Immigration Advice and Rights Centre, and Migrant Justice Institute have set out the roadmap for strong and robust visa protections for migrant workers in a new report: Not Just Numbers: A Blueprint of Visa Protections for Temporary Migrant Workers.

For too long, the Australian Governments migration laws have put profits over people and left migrant workers systematically disadvantaged at work. Earlier this year, the Albanese Government recognised that the migration system was not fit-for-purpose and temporary migrant workers were experiencing a crisis of exploitation.

The new report contains stories of migrant workers on different visas and across the country, and their experiences at work from wage theft to unsafe work and sexual harassment, to threats and bullying. The common thread is the lack of visa security and protection for workers to speak up about exploitation at work.

The report backs the calls made by unions and experts for the introduction of strong, reliable and enforceable visa protections for migrant workers as the first step towards ending exploitation. This includes a Workplace Justice visa and a guarantee against visa cancellation for exploited workers.

Quotes attributed to Massimo Calosi, Italian hospitality worker and workplace-rights ambassador of the Migrant Workers Centre:
I know first-hand the way that employers can use our visa status to threaten and intimidate us as migrant workers. The threat of visa cancellation keeps workers silent about what goes on at work. This happened to me I knew I was being underpaid in my job, but I also knew that if I spoke up, it would risk my visa, and so my hands were tied.

I consider myself one of the lucky ones. I have friends who have been in the country for more than ten years and still have no visa security and are totally reliant on their employers. This shouldnt be happening to any worker in this country.

We need to start with strong protections to allow migrant workers to leave bad employers without risking their visa. And we need these protections now.

Quotes attributed to Sanmati Verma, Managing Lawyer at the Human Rights Law Centre:
Since the 7-11 scandal almost a decade ago, weve known that the risk of visa cancellation stops migrant workers from taking action to end exploitation. For a decade, migrant workers have demanded protection against visa cancellation if they have been exploited at work.

Those demands have gone unheeded and now were facing a crisis at a monumental scale. At least three quarters of temporary migrant workers are being underpaid and silenced while Australian bosses take advantage to post record profits....

Funding circularity: Investing in Asias circular economy business models "IndyWatch Feed National"

SINGAPORE For a while now, researchers and policy experts have touted the transition to a circular economy as a way to sustainably handle the worlds growing waste and pollution crisis. The objective is to rapidly replace the take-make-waste business model of the linear economy with the reuse, repair, refurbish and recycle model of a circular economy. The ultimate goal would be to achieve zero waste. But beyond the buzzwords now doing the rounds in the media, how do inventive entrepreneurs and companies make sense of the circular economy? How can businesses adopt this model to reduce resource extraction and increase reuse and recycling? And how can small businesses that are successfully exploring innovative circular models find the money to scale up, especially in emerging economies? To get answers to some of these questions, Mongabay sat down with Ellen Martin, the chief impact officer at Circulate Capital, an investment management firm based in Singapore that funds circular business models in emerging economies. Launched in 2018 with a $100 million fund, Circulate Capital invests in companies in South and Southeast Asia with the aim of scaling up their circular solutions. In essence, the circular economy business model helps companies rethink and revamp their supply chains reinventing their relationships with raw materials and waste. A key part of the process is to reduce the reliance on new raw materials by deriving new products from waste. Its a whole way of creating value that decouples the extraction of resources from the environmentThis article was originally published on Mongabay

The "Tic tac" encounter - a forgotten participant "IndyWatch Feed National"

Douglas Kurth

An often-overlooked participant in the 14 November 2004 "Tic tac" incident, is former U.S. Navy pilot Lt. Col. Douglas Kurth. Then Lt. Col. Douglas Kurth was the Commanding Officer of Marine Hornet Squadron VMFA-232 on that date. On the day in question, he was in the area flying a single seater aircraft.

In 2021, in the most Indepth interview with Kurth of which I am aware, U.S. researcher Christian Lambright, asked Kurth about that day. In part, Kurth responded:

"That's when they vectored Fravor's flight toward the Unidentified Contact. After a few minutes when my checks were completed, I accepted their vector toward the Unidentified Contact.

I had Fravor's flight on radar and was directly over the top of them when they were observing the supersonic tic tac. I was not on the same frequency as Fravor's flight.

I saws the visual disturbance in the water (which had been previously and accurately reported) and that is what I used as my reference point to orbit around. The disturbance on the water cleared suddenly. It all seemed odd to me at the time. I never saw the object physically myself."

I reported on the above in a blog article dated 29 May 2021.

Later, Kurth was recruited by Colm Kelleher for Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) which was successful in bidding for the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP.) In that capacity, Kurth led a BAASS team down to South America looking for pieces of UAP and hoping to learn about their propulsion systems. Unexplained cosmic radio signal repeats every 21 minutes for 35 years "IndyWatch Feed National"

We are getting more and more data and are patching more and more mathematical objects into the breach to explain what we see.  Yet the only thing we can even start to confirm is right here in our solar system.

We really need to establish deep space wormholes through which we establish observatories at a convenient distance in order to just confirm the 3D nature of the known distribution of evidence.

This will become possible and likely we can link directly from the surface of the earth, perhaps in steps.

we truly have decades of opinions with no confident confirmation.  Thus healthy sceptacism is the order of the day.

An artist's impression of a magnetar, the leading candidate for a bizarre radio signal that repeats every 21 minutes

Astronomers have detected a radio signal in our galaxy that blares for several minutes at a time, every 21 minutes, and has been doing so for at least 35 years. This bizarre signal doesnt fit the bill for any known object without some major revisions to current physics.

The signal was originally detected by the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA), a radio telescope stretched across the Western Australian outback. It was designated GPM J1839-10, and was traced to the Scutum constellation about 15,000 light-years from Earth.

The repeating radio pulses were detected between July and September 2022 in MWA data, before being confirmed by a variety of other telescopes around the world. The bursts last anywhere from 30 seconds to five minutes, and fire up......

Delta Guber: Tribunal Reserves Ruling On Omo-Ageges Application Seeking Recount Of Ballot "IndyWatch Feed National"

JUDICIARY 3

LAGOS AUGUST 1ST (URHOBOTODAY)-Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, on Monday reserved ruling in an application brought by the petitioners seeking a recount of ballot papers used for the March 18 election.

Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ovie Omo-Agege, is challenging the declaration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the People Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

At the resumed hearing, the three-man tribunal headed by Justice C.H Ahuchaogu, reserved the ruling on the application for Tuesday, August 1 after listening to argument by counsels to the parties.

Counsel to the petitioners, Alex Iziyon (SAN), urged the tribunal to make an order for the counting of the ballot papers already admitted in evidence.

In the circumstances, I will apply to the tribunal that the said bags already in evidence and marked as exhibits 3PR1-3PR176that the tribunal make an order for the count of the ballot papers already tendered, he said.

Oborevworis counsel, Damian Dodo (SAN), argued that the case for a recount of ballot by the petitioners has not been made out, adding that the petitioners failed to apply for a recount at the polling unit level.

He cited Section 61 of the Electoral Act to buttress his position, submitting that a demand for a recount at the polling unit level is by the intendment of the Electoral Act a sine qua non for an application for an order to recount before the tribunal.

Earlier, the tribunal dismissed an application brought the petitioners seeking a subpoena witness from INEC to testify in the matter.

In the ruling, Justice Ahuchaogu agreed with the argument of Mr. Dodo, and held that the witness cannot testify in areas in proof of the petitioners case moreso where he is a staff of one of the respondents.

We sustain the objection and expunge the answers offered by the witness as to the number of ballot papers contained in the respective bags.

The subpoened witness, Mr. Joseph Ellems, who is INEC Head of Electoral Operation Department, in Asaba, Delta State, had tendered bags of ballot papers used for the election.

Iziyon had applied for the witness to testify, an application that Dodo objected to.

Dodo argued that the witness could not testify, because the petitioner was limited by the terms of the subpoena Duces Tecom ard Testificandum issued by the tribunal.

According to Dodo, the witnessess duty is to produce....

The great con job: how the media and marketing industry is getting away with tracking Australians "IndyWatch Feed National"

Australians dont want to be tracked.  We dont want to be tracked, profiled, packaged up and traded, then targeted.

Across surveys from the OAIC, ACCC and the Consumer Policy Research Centre, we know that Australians regard online surveillance of our online behaviour, for the purpose of profiling us and sharing our data to fuel targeted, personalised advertising or other messaging, as an invasion of our privacy.  We want it to stop.

Even surveys conducted by for-profit companies find that we dont want to be tracked.  In 2020 Deloitte found that 93% of consumers want opt-in for non-essential uses of their personal information, and 83% of consumers are concerned by tracking cookies used for targeted marketing.  And according to Adobes Future of Marketing Research in 2021, the number one brand behaviour that consumers regard as trust-breaking is online tracking.

So how is it that media and marketing companies can collect, collate, share and use our data, across different brands, services, platforms and apps, in order to track, profile and target us, without our active agreement to do so?

Isnt the Privacy Act supposed to stop that?

I have identified four common claims made about why companies are allowed to collate and share our data for personalised, targeted, marketing purposes, which may or may not be BS.  Plus one actual reason why.

BS claim #1: Its not personal information

The first piece of BS to watch out for is when media and marketing players claim that the data they are handling is not personal information the implication being that therefore there is no reason for anyone to worry about their privacy.

But what media and AdTech companies tell brands, versus what they tell the public, are very different stories.

As consumers, we are told a lot about anonymous data, data that is not personally identifiable or which does not usually identify you personally, and data associated with your browser or your device.

The Nine Group privacy policy, for example tells consumers that they collect anonymous data which may not be considered personal information under the Privacy Act, such as data about your interaction with our digital services and third party digital services using tracking technologies such as cookies and web beacons.  This information may be used by Nine Group or provided to third parties......

Colombian Civil society calls for withdrawal from investment agreements with ISDS provisions, citing need to protect rights "IndyWatch Feed National"

August 1, 2023: Six years after the Colombian Court ruled to stop the expansion of a massive open-pit mine to protect the rights of Indigenous Wayu and Afro-Colombian communities, the decision has yet to be implemented.

The delay has been attributed to the ongoing Investor-State Dispute Settlement claim that Glencore, the giant Swiss transnational conglomerate which owns the mine, has made against the Colombian government in May 2021.

ISDS is a mechanism within some agreements which enables foreign (but not local) investors to sue governments for millions and even billions of dollars of compensation if they can argue, among other reasons, that a change in domestic law or policy has reduced the value of their investment.

The Colombian Court ruling, and the subsequent ISDS claim followed plans which were announced in 2013 to divert Bruno River, an important spiritual site which supplies water to 40,000 people, to extract coal from the riverbed.

This came after decades of environmental harm caused to the region by the Cerrejn mine, including contaminated water, soil and air, and disrupted and dried up local waterways. In addition to the dispossession and displacement of Wayu Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities from their ancestral territories.

In 2017 the Constitutional Court ruled that the company and the state institutions had violated the Wayus rights to the Bruno River to allow the mine to expand. The Court suspended the mine expansion, with the aim of reviewing how to implement the decision.

However, despite the ruling, Glencore has refused to comply with the court order, alleging in its ISDS Claim the decision denied it fair and equitable treatment. Cerrejn mine has since continued its planned expansion to divert 3.6km of the Bruno River.

Colombia has had twenty-one ISDS cases since 2016, nearly half of which have been brought by mining companies against efforts by Colombia to protect the environment and Indigenous communities rights.

Civil society is now...

Political leaders sell Australia out at AUSMIN "IndyWatch Feed National"

Contributed by Joe Montero

The AustraliaUS Ministerial Meeting (AUSMIN) on the weekend was supposed to be a discussion by partners around issues of mutual Interest. Instead, it Was more like representatives of a vassal state fronting an audience with their colonial master.

United Sates representatives Secretary of Sate Anthony Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin were obviously in charge. They hung about as governors inspecting the guard, as the military paraded before them in Rockhampton. What came out the talking was everything Washington wants sand nothing else.

More telling is that it was decreed that Australian land. Sea, and air space is now effectively the property of the United States, which its military can occupy at will and as its commanders like. Australias Representatives also acquiesced to allowing the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and other undercover agencies to fully penetrate Australias defence and security apparatus.

Australias leaders were well aware who is in charge, and it wasnt them. They knew their role and bent the knee in supplication. Is this really very different from the reaction of many French political leaders who bent their knees after Germany crossed the border and began the World War Two occupation? The means used by the Third Reich was far more violent. But the principle remains. They were happy to sacrifice the sovereignty of their homeland to an outside power.

Those who did the deed in France were called quislings. Maybe the title fits in Australia today. The saddest part is that this betrayal is bipartisan. Labor and the Coalition share it. They kept quiet. The political elite believes their bread is best buttered this way.

This reduces Australia to a near colonial status, where policy is decided overseas, and part of the fruits are shared to buy allies here in Australia.

Another matter that underlined Australias vassal sta...

On not ignoring the struggles of Africa "IndyWatch Feed National"

My essay/book review in the US outlet The Markaz Review is on a new book by the great writer, Anjan Sundaram, Break-Up: A Reporters Marriage Amid a Central African War:

The Central African Republic (CAR) is mostly ignored in the mainstream media, but in sparse depictions its often portrayed as a faraway nation bedeviled by an endless and bloody war over valuable natural resources including gold, timber and diamonds. Add Western media apathy and ingrained journalistic racism towards Africans and its unsurprising that most people dont have a clue whats happening in CAR.

For years I had heard about this country, writes journalist Anjan Sundaram in his startling new book, Breakup: A Reporters Marriage Amid a Central African War. He points out that foreigners may have heard of CAR through the infamous Lords Resistance Army, a brutal Christian rebel group that operates across CAR, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and South Sudan.

The group, which had launched a rebellion in Uganda, sought shelter in its [CARs] forests as US soldiers hunted it down. Otherwise, [the Central African Republic] made the news when power shifted and even then, hardly. From the outside, it could seem like an oblivion, a country in the high seas.

Sundarams descent into hell across landlocked CAR is narrated against the backdrop of his crumbling marriage while his wife, Nat, is in Canada with their young daughter, Raphaelle. He travels around CAR with a Human Rights Watch researcher, Lewis Mudge, telling the reader that together theyre a more effective team because they are recording the emotions of the war and gathering testimony of peoples courage.

What transpires is a journey through an apocalyptic, battle-scarred landscape where, due to the perilous security situation, even local citizens have no idea whats happening in their vicinity. Fear is etched on the faces of every civilian whom Sundaram and Mudge meet.

Sundaram isnt a war junkie, endlessly drawn to documenting conflict, but his disarming gentleness masks a determination to uncover what most Western reporters dont because theres little glory in publicity or accolades in doing so.

NT Government must work with Aboriginal communities after raising age of criminal responsibility to 12 "IndyWatch Feed National"

A coalition of Aboriginal, community, justice and human rights organisations says that as new NT laws to raise the age of criminal responsibility to 12 years come into effect today, there is an urgent need for the NT Government to work with Aboriginal communities and organisations to ensure supports and services are available when and where children need them.

The coalition notes that while raising the age of criminal responsibility to 12 is a step in the right direction, Australian laws are out of touch with child rights and international standards which require at a minimum the age be set at 14 years.

As of 1 August, 10 and 11 year old children in the Northern Territory can no longer be arrested, charged with criminal offences or sent to prison. Children under 12 with prior criminal records will also have their records expunged, giving them a fresh start.

Evidence shows that any engagement with the criminal legal system as a child, including the arrest or interrogation of a child by police, can cause harm. This reform is an important first step to a smarter, more humane and restorative approach that keeps children, families and communities safe.

As changes to laws keep younger children away from the justice system, the focus must now turn to working with, and properly resourcing, services on the ground to ensure children and families have their needs met, in their communities and on Country.

The NT government are urged to:

  1. Establish referral pathways and information sharing: Work with service providers on the ground to create referral pathways and enhance information sharing in ways that deliver positive benefits to children and their families. By doing so, children and their families can access the necessary support and services when and where they need.

  2. Empower Aboriginal service providers: Resource local Aboriginal service providers to deliver culturally-appropriate and holistic responses, specifically tailored to the needs of Aboriginal children and their families.

  3. Implement transparent monitoring and evaluation: Commit to rigorous and transparent monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of referral pathways and diversionary efforts. This will help ensure that the initiatives are effective and can be continuously improved upon.

  4. Review and Raise the Age further: Demonstrate a commitment to progress by conducting a review of the Minimum Age of Criminal Responsibility, with the objective of raising the age of criminal responsibility to 14. This would bring us in line with the medical evidence on child brain development and our obligations to protect children's rights.

  5. Increase early intervention and prevention services for Aboriginal children...

August In Your Patch "IndyWatch Feed National"

Days are getting longer, but not yet much warmer.  Plants sense the changes in day length so, in temperate regions they are waking up, but further north the dramatic changes of the south do not occur.  In southern Australia, cool, clear nights, frosty mornings and plenty of rain can only mean one thing, it is August and the beginning of bud burst.   Regardless of where you live, here are some top gardening tips for your place in the month of August.

Warm Areas

Frost free or occasional light frosts (North from about Coffs Harbour and all the way across to the west to Geraldton)

Stick these into your veggie patch: rocket, silverbeet, spring onions, Chinese cabbage, mizuna, lettuce, parsley, zucchini, pumpkin, leeks and parsnip.

Why not try some lovely flowering plants in your patch as well, like: nasturtium, petunias, marigolds (French) and celosia. These are great at attracting pollinators and beneficial insects to your patch. If planning on putting in some tomatoes next month, prepare a bed now (your toms will thank you for it). Do this by popping in some organic compost, pelletised chook poo, a wee bit of water, and applying a straw mulch. This bed will be awesome come September and you will have the greatest tomatoes in the street!

Consider a green manure crop to add some life and love to an overworked patch. At this time of year, try wheat, lablab or chickpea. Just like the tomato bed above, this will improve your soil incredibly, and, for a bit of forward planning, youll find it well worth the effort!

Pruning and weeding is a must job to do at this time of year.

Top up mulch on your veggie patches, herb gardens and ornamental beds. Choose sustainable, low environmental impact mulch, one that will enrich your soil as it breaks down.

Cool to Cold Areas

Low temperatures for extended periods of time (all of Tasmania, most of Victoria, the southern highlands of NSW, the ACT and a tiny southern bit of SA)

Its your very last chance to put bare rooted trees in! Race down to the nursery now, and grab some fruit trees, including apples, pears, plums, peaches, and nectarines. Deciduous exotic trees can be planted in now also.

Theres a bit happening in the veggie patch, so you could try spinach, broad beans, Jerusalem artichokes (put them in a pot or they can take over!!...

UFO-curious lawmakers brace for a fight over government secrets "IndyWatch Feed National"

A bipartisan group of lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee says a high-profile hearing on UFOs is just the start of their push for answers. And they are threatening to use heavier-handed tactics if the Pentagon and intelligence agencies stand in their way. Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) want more information on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) commonly referred to as UFOs beginning with new laws, a classified hearing and the possible creation of a select committee. The lawmakers said they are willing to use subpoena power if needed to get the answers they're seeking from the federal government. "If there's not a cover-up, the government and the Pentagon are sure spending a lot of resources to stop us from studying it," Burchett told The Hill.

US rejects Australian plea to drop Assange case "IndyWatch Feed National"

Secretary of State Antony Blinken insisted that the WikiLeaks founder caused "serious harm" to US national security... US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has confirmed that Australia has raised the case of Julian Assange's continued prosecution, but declared that Washington will not cease seeking the extradition of the former WikiLeaks boss and intends to try him for espionage. Speaking alongside Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Brisbane on Saturday, Blinken said: "I understand the concerns and views of Australians. Assange's [alleged] actions risked very serious harm to our national security, to the benefit of our adversaries, and put named human sources at grave risk - grave risk - of physical harm, and grave risk of detention. "Assange was charged with very serious criminal conduct" and had allegedly taken part in "one of the largest compromises of classified information in the history of our country."

Lucky for Some: Howard Wades in as Australias Voice to Parliament Referendum Nears "IndyWatch Feed National"

I do hold the view that the luckiest thing that happened to this country was being colonised by the British. It comes in the build-up to the Voice to Parliament referendum, which will determine whether Australias constitution Continue reading "Lucky for Some: Howard Wades in as Australias Voice to Parliament Referendum Nears"

On our annual publishing break, well be pondering what the responsibility of the African intellectual is today.

alt
Still from Barbie, Warner Brothers, 2023.

I did not expect to enjoy Greta Gerwigs Barbie. More than this, I put up every defense against its thrall, and like a faithful Marxist, dutifully rehearsed every note against it: the coming wave of soulless, IP movies it augurs, the quickening death of indie cinema, its veneration of (white) girlboss feminism, and celebration of American consumerism. Be that as it mayit is a delightfully silly and fun film (I cannot stop singing Im just Ken, to the mild annoyance of my partner). If culture is on track to become a feast of flavorless bubblegum, Barbie was a more chewable piece.

The film has been polarizing. Along with Christopher Nolans Oppenheimer (which I have not yet seen), a debate has emerged considering on which terms a film (or any piece of art, for that matter) can be judged to be good, as well as by which standards these judgments are made. A debate that can be reduced to the questions: what is good art, alongside, what is good criticism.

In The Atlantic, Adam Kotsko complains that Moralism is ruining cultural criticism, writing that Just as the reduction of art to political propaganda leads to bad art, the aestheticization of politics leads to bad, irresponsible politics. Thats because aesthetics and politics are not the same thing. The points are well-taken (albeit, debatable). But the thing they underscore is the broad crisis of meaning that characterizes our political moment, riven with all sorts of existential questions about domains that not long ago, we would have taken for granted: what is art, what is politics, what is feminism, what is masculinity, what is the left, what is race, what is the energy transition, etc.

We could also ask: what is Africa? The name of this publication gives a tongue-in-cheek answer, meant to imply the opposite of what it says: Africa is not a country. Writing in The Pan African Review, however, Yusuf Serunkuma argues for the political potential of embracing otherwise:

Africans ought to appreciate the reality that w...

GCC Accounts for 48% of Total Remittances to Lebanon "IndyWatch Feed National"

Remittances continue to serve as a vital source of support for the Lebanese economy and Lebanese families as they amount approximately $6 to $7 billion per year. Despite the COVID crisis and the global recession in the past years, remittances kept flowing from expats in support of their families, making Lebanon the third-highest recipient of remittances in terms of value in the MENA region, preceded only by Morocco and Egypt.

So wheres that money coming from?

Lebanese diaspora is spread all over the world but according to the latest UNDP report, 48% originate from the GCC (Gulf countries), followed by North American (16%), Western Europe (14%), Africa (14%), Australia (3%), Latin
America (3%), and lastly Eastern Europe (2%).

The same report lists the number of Lebanese emigrants by country, with 353,886 Lebanese in Arab Countries, 200,595 emigrants in North America, 186,057 in Europe and 140,000 in other countries. It is worth noting more than 100,000 people emigrated out of Lebanon in the past three years alone, which is a staggering number.

  • New research from Japan focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on early childhood development. The study revealed that children who went through the pandemic were 4.39 months behind in overall development at age 5 years; however, such a negative association was not observed in development at age 3 years. The negative estimate at age 5 years was significant, indicating a 6% delay compared with typical development. The authors suggest that the pandemic increased the amount of time parents stayed at home, leading to increased one-to-one interactions within the family, which may have offset the negative outcomes of the pandemic among the exposed cohorts at age 3 years. Their findings also revealed more significant variations in child development during the pandemic at both the child and nursery center levels, with social relationships with adults varying the most in both age groups. A higher quality of care provided by a nursery center was positively associated with development during the pandemic, especially at age 3 years. In addition, the authors discovered that parental depression amplified the associations between the pandemic and delayed development.
  • According to a new meta-analysis, having congenital heart disease (CHD) may double the odds of being diagnosed with autism. However, the authors report that many children with CHD have certain traits that resemble autism but fall short of meriting a diagnosis, such as issues with the theory of mind and executive function, which includes working memory, cognitive flexibility, planning and self-regulation.
  • A recent study from Australia reveals that early intervention therapy for infants showing early signs of autism could be a highly cost-effective measure. The study found that only 6.7% of children who underwent preemptive therapy at 12 months of age received a diagnosis of autism at age three, compared to 20.5% of children who didnt participate in the program. US military analysts to 'embed' themselves in Australia's defence department following AUSMIN talks "IndyWatch Feed National"

American military analysts will soon be sent to work at the Defence Intelligence Organisation (DIO) in Canberra as both allies intensify joint efforts to scrutinise the moves of states like China, Russia and North Korea in the region. The US and Australia announced that they would establish a "Combined Intelligence Centre Australia" within the DIO by next year, saying the new entity would "enhance long-standing intelligence cooperation". It comes in the wake of the AUSMIN talks between the two nations on Saturday Defence Minister Richard Marles said that while the US and Australia already had deep intelligence ties and shared large amounts of information, the announcement represented a "significant step forward" towards "seamless" intelligence ties.

Coinbase (COIN) Drops 10% As CEO Discloses Absurd SEC Request "IndyWatch Feed National"

After a shocking revelation by CEO Brian Armstrong, Coinbase, the Nasdaq-listed crypto exchange, saw its share price plummet by more than 10%. The reason: a controversial request from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) prior to the lawsuit against Coinbase. The SECs demand? That Coinbase halts trading in all cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin.

Brian Armstrong, Coinbases CEO, revealed the SECs absurd request in an exclusive interview with the Financial Times. They came back to us, and they said... we believe every asset other than Bitcoin is a security, Armstrong said. And, we said, well how are you coming to that conclusion, because thats not our interpretation of the law. Remarkably, the SEC answered, were not going to explain it to you, you need to delist every asset other than Bitcoin.

SEC Wanted To End The Entire US Crypto Industry

This unprecedented move by the SEC indicates an intent to assert regulatory authority over the entire altcoin market. The SECs case against Coinbase identified 13 traded cryptocurrencies as securities, asserting that by offering them to customers, the exchange fell under the regulators remit.

However, the SECs request for Coinbase to delist over 200 tokens suggests a push for even wider authority over the crypto industry under the chairmanship of Gary Gensler.

Armstrong was quick to point out the potential implications of such a move. If Coinbase had agreed, that could have set a precedent that would have left the vast majority of the American crypto businesses operating outside the law unless they registered with the commission, he said.

The CEO further added, We really didnt have a choice at that point, delisting every asset other than Bitcoin, which by the way is not what the law says, would have essentially meant the end of the crypto industry in the US.

Coinbase (COIN) Plunges Following The News

In the wake of the news, the Coinbase share price (COIN) plummeted in an initial reaction by more than 10%, from $102.35 to $91.94. However, at press time, the price recovered somewhat and traded at $94.76.

The news may have been a shock for COIN investors, as the statement by Brian Armstrong reveals that the approach by the SEC is even harder and worse for the crypto industry (by naming all cryptocurrencies except BTC a security) However, its important to note that it wont have any impact on the SEC-Coinbase lawsuit directly.

Thus, its possible that this was an overreaction of the market. Its also worth noting that the upward trend in COINs 1-day chart remains intact. The price has bounced upwards off the support level at $91.87.

Immense potential in tech: Q&A with Wildlife Drones CEO Debbie Saunders "IndyWatch Feed National"

Debbie Saunderss quest to make wildlife tracking more efficient started in the early 2000s. The wild ecologist was studying swift parrots (Lathamus discolor) in Australia and found it challenging to track the birds movements from one point to another. She could use radio telemetry monitoring, fitting the parrots with radio tags and then tracking the signals emitted. But that would require walking around in the field holding up a tracking antenna to capture the radio signals. It was exhausting, labor-intensive, and limited the number of birds she could track. So Saunders got to work finding a more practical solution. What followed was years of effort that eventually led to her launching a tech startup that attempts to solve the problem. My career has gone from bird-watching right through to having a tech company in kind of unexpected ways, Saunders told Mongabay in a video interview. Wildlife Drones, Saunderss company, uses drones to trace and track animals that have been fitted with radio tags. The drones are equipped with sensors that receive signals from radio tags. Once the drone is launched, it stays at a given height or flies around, while sweeping up signals sent out by the tags. Using this method, Saunders said, 40 animals can be tracked simultaneously. Converting El Nio into Climate Change to Further the Agenda 2030 "IndyWatch Feed National"

COMMENT: All of a sudden, El Nio is proof of global warming, just like the wildfires in Australia and California, as if these things never happened before. The sheep believe whatever the press tells them. Thats why you cannot stop the cycle, and 2032 is now not so far away.

HW

ANSWER: El Nio and La Nia are climate patterns in the Pacific Ocean that have impacted weather worldwide for centuries. This very intense cycle will increase the risk of famine in parts of the world from 2024 to 2025. Here is a chart of the temperatures back to 1950. Look closely, and you will see that the cycle is very violent. It goes from hot and then plunges into a Panic Cycle type move immediately thereafter.

El Nio events are thought to have occurred for thousands of years, and only now are people claiming this is proof of humans changing the environment. It is believed that historically the Indians in Peru sacrificed humans to try to prevent the rains caused by a severe El Nio. Perhaps they might have had better success by offering politicians instead of virgins. These people latch on to anything and now with ZERO proof, they tell everyone that it is Climate Change that is making it hotter.

Can Cryptocurrencies Survive in an Authoritarian World? "IndyWatch Feed National"

QUESTION: Thanks for all the great information you share. I have a question regarding cryptocurrencies. Do you think all countries will try to abolish crypto or only certain countries (such as the US) in favor of a central bank digital currency? As of now, many countries appear much more accepting of crypto than the US. Thanks again.

JWM

ANSWER: This is a good question. Before the stupid sanctions imposed on Russia removed them from SWIFT, the IMF would threaten tax havens that if they did not turn over the people with accounts in their country, they would be removed from SWIFT. The sanctions against Russia have backfired, so now we have China and Iran setting up their alternatives to SWIFT. I would have assumed that they would have threatened countries against the removal from SWIFT if they did not shut down cryptocurrencies, for they would provide an alternative to CBDC and thereby skirt their end goal of 100% control and taxation. In trying to sanction Russia, they have lost their absolute power to abuse SWIFT to threaten countries. Theoretically, the tax havens could switch to Chinas CIPS and say screw you to the US and EU.

As I have said, an EMP could wipe out the entire financial system and neutralize even nuclear weapons capability. I do not see how these people will succeed in dominating the world. Their abuse of SWIFT to punish Russia has undermined their power and the entire world economy. This is most likely part of the 2032 collapse.

I would be concerned about cryptocurrencies making the transition to what lies beyond 2032. That is highly speculative. I would tend to rely on tangible assets to make the transition to whatever the new monetary system will emerge post-2032.

6-shogaol inhibits the cell migration of colon cancer. "IndyWatch Feed National"

PMID:  Integr Cancer Ther. 2023 ;22:15347354231172732. PMID: 37157810 Abstract Title:  6-Shogaol Inhibits the Cell Migration of Colon Cancer by Suppressing the EMT Process Through the IKK/NF-B/Snail Pathway. Abstract:  6-Shogaol from ginger has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation and anti-cancer effects. To study the effects and possible mechanisms of 6-Shogaol on inhibiting the migration of colon cancer cells Caco2 and HCT116 and prove the effects on proliferation and apoptosis. The cells were treated with 6-Shogaol at the concentrations of 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100M, the cytotoxicity was tested by Colony formation assays and 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), and the Western blot was used to evaluate IKK/NF-B/Snail pathway and EMT-related proteins. In addition, in order to eliminate the interference of proliferation inhibition on the experiment, Caco2 cells were treated with 6-Shogaol at the concentrations of 0, 40, and 80M, HCT116 cells were treated with 6-Shogaol at the concentrations of 0, 20, and 40M, apoptosis was measured by Annex V/PI staining, and migration was measured by Wound healing assays and Transwell test.6-Shogaol significantly inhibited the growth of cells. The maximum inhibitory concentration of half of them was 86.63M in Caco2 cells and 45.25M in HCT116 cells. At 80M and 40M concentrations, 6-Shogaol significantly promoted apoptosis of colon cancer Caco2 cells and HCT116 cells, and also significantly inhibited cell migration (
