The links between pollution and miscarriage: 'This is the stuff nightmares are made of' "IndyWatch Feed National"

The world we live in is slowly poisoning every single one of us. And the chemicals doing the most damage are byproducts of the fossil fuel industry, agribusiness and manufacturing. There doesn't seem to be the appetite at a regulatory or governmental level to stop it. In Australia, 50,000 agricultural, industrial and veterinary chemicals are being used; 1,500 are suspected to interfere with endocrine function, which is essential to the healthy working of our reproductive and hormonal systems. Only a very small number have been tested. Microplastics, which can cause inflammation in the body, is being found in our blood streams and also in the placentas of unborn fetuses. Walking down a major intersection during rush hour can expose you to as much particulate matter as a major bushfire event. Even if chemicals are tested, the testing regimen means that chemicals are only being tested in isolation and not in conjunction with others to see how compounds react. Also, they might be tested for carcinogenic effects ... but the test subjects aren't monitored for other ill-effects, such as endocrine disruption. Some effects take place long after the research has concluded. Some of these chemicals can stay in the body forever. Or affect the way our DNA functions. Theres even an Australian website (not widely enough publicised) called yourfertility.org.au. It has an entire section on chemicals in our environment and what to avoid, stating that avoiding these chemicals may increase the chance of having a baby.

What the heck is sociogenomics? "IndyWatch Feed National"

I was asked recently about sociogenomics, and I had to stop and think because I was unfamiliar with the word. At a guess, I thought it would about looking for correlations between genes and socioeconomic groups, ethnicities, and races using tools like genome wide association studies and polygenic scores you know, Bell Curve shit. To me, it sounded ominous and catastrophically bad, something that would shift into plain old eugenics and evolve into Nazi shit. But what do I know? I had to go look it up. I was just guessing.

Guess what? I guessed right.

Sociogenome is the comprehensive study of the role of genes and gene-environment (GxE) interaction on reproductive behaviour. Until now, social science research has focussed on socio-environmental explanations, largely neglecting the role of genes.

Drawing from recent unprecedented advances in molecular genetics we examine whether there is a genetic component to reproductive outcomes, including age at first birth, number of children and infertility and their interaction with the social environment.

Uh-oh. Theyre just going to take modern genetic techniques and apply them to sociology. But these techniques will not give them the answers they want! Theyll reveal rough correlations, but they wont untangle genetics and environmental factors they cant. This is a problem that has been pointed out to behavioral genetics researchers for years, and they just go sailing on ahead.

In the past decade and a half, sociologists and demographers have sought to integrate genetic data into their empirical analyses. To do so, they have drawn on recently developed high-throughput sequencing and genotyping technologies, which allow the entire genome to be mapped. They also follow in the line of a research specialty, behavioural genetics, which rose to prominence in the 1970s. This area, which focused notably on the genetic determination of intelligence, attracted severe criticisms, including among demographers (Jacquard, 1978; Vetta and Courgeau, 2003; Courgeau, 2017). However, these criticisms do not always seem to have been heard, and the emergence of new data and techniques has given rise to new problems, as indicated by calls for caution from learned societies in human genetics (Socit franaise de gntique humaine, 2010; Risch, 2016; Socit franaise de gntique humaine, 2018).

Lets look at an example of a sociogenomics study that was summarized in Wired. It does not reassure me.

The UK BioBank is the single largest public genetic repository in the world, with samples of the genetic blueprints of h...

Singapore Airlines free Singapore tour for transfer and transit passengers first shown on Taazakhabar News

Singapore Airlines - free Singapore tour for transfer and transit passengers

Changi Airport Group (CAG), Singapore Airlines (SIA), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) re-launched the Free Singapore Tour after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19. Three of the existing tours available since pre-Covid-19  the City Sights Tour, Heritage Tour, and Jewel Tour have been refreshed to include new points of interest. A brand-new Changi Precinct Tour will introduce travellers to the interesting sights and sounds of the eastern region surrounding Singapore Changi Airport. Each tour lasts 2.5 hours and will be available daily, with plans to progressively increase to nine hours a day.

With transit and transfer passengers accounting for about 30% of passenger traffic at Changi Airport pre-pandemic, the tour was first introduced in 1987 to enhance the airports attractiveness as a transfer hub and to entice transit and transfer passengers to visit Singapore as a holiday destination. In 2019, over 80,000 passengers went on the Free Singapore Tour. The top markets were India, Australia, and Indonesia, with Indian and Australian travellers making up more than one-third of the total participants.

New Changi Precinct Tour to showcase eastern Singapore

The Changi Precinct Tour is a new itinerary that will bring participants to the eastern part of Singapore to visit local community spaces such as the Tampines heartland and to admire the rustic charms of Changi Village and Changi Beach. It offers a glimpse into how local residents live, and tells the tale of Singapores history on this part of t...

We Can Have Both More Housing and Good Urban Form "IndyWatch Feed National"

The density question is one that I get so frequently that I wrote an article about it way back in 2015. What is the proper density required to build a Strong Town? In these conversations, I typically point out that, if you ask a zoner to deliver you density, they will gleefully deliver you density, but youre not going to like it.

Im on my citys planning commission. We recently adopted a new comprehensive plan (I was on the committee) that called for more density (in ways I wasnt completely comfortable with). We then rewrote our entire zoning code (I was not involved) in a way that delivered more density.

Predictably, people dont like it. I dont like it, either.

I dont know what value that is going to add to my neighborhood, was one of the public comments that made the local paper following a recent meeting. The comment fell on mostly deaf ears, largely because the answer was both obvious and uncomfortable for my colleagues. The proposed apartment building will add five two-room units to the neighborhood. Building more housing is a goal of our comprehensive plan. But, this proposal does so in a way that clearly disrespects and detracts from the neighborhood, which is in conflict with others goals of the comprehensive plan.

This conflict does not need to exist. We can have both more housing and good urban form. Poorly written zoning codes are where good intentions formed in a planning process go to die. Our communitys intentions, as reflected in our comprehensive plan, are on life support. It doesnt need to be this way.

Im not a fan of using the density metric in a zoning code, and I dont think density is the metric any...

Minnesota Lets Nurses Practice While Disciplinary Investigations Drag On. Patients Keep Getting Hurt. "IndyWatch Feed National"

ProPublica is a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power. Sign up for Dispatches, a newsletter that spotlights wrongdoing around the country, to receive our stories in your inbox every week. This story was co-published with Minnesota Public Radio and KARE-TV.

Amy Morris started working at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins, Minnesota, in June 2021 with a clean nursing license that belied her looming troubles.

Morris, a licensed practical nurse, had been fired from a nearby nursing home seven months earlier for stealing narcotics from elderly residents. The state of Minnesotas health department investigated and found that the accusation was substantiated, and then notified the Board of Nursing, the state agency responsible for licensing and monitoring nurses.

But even though state law requires the board to immediately suspend a nurse who presents an imminent risk of harm, it allowed Morris to keep practicing.

In September 2021, supervisors at Hilltop discovered that pain pills were disappearing during Morris shifts and called the sheriff. Only then did Hilltop learn of allegations of narcotic theft that had been made nearly a year earlier at the other nursing home.

I thought, How is she practicing now? Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze recalled.

In an excerpt from an October 2021 Minnesota Department of Health report, a manager for Hilltop Health Care Center said the facility didnt know about a previous incident in which nurse Amy Morris was found to be involved in drug diversion, or theft. (Screenshot by ProPublica)

The answer, ProPublica found, is that the nursing boards investigations frequently drag on for months or even years. As a result, nurses are sometimes allowed to keep practicing despite allegations of serious misconduct.

It wasnt supposed to be this way. In the face of intens...

Labor government must act to prevent British companies suing the Australian government using the CPTPP "IndyWatch Feed National"

April 3, 2023: Australias Trade Minister Senator Don Farrell announced on March 31 that negotiations for the United Kingdom to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) were substantially concluded but that a draft Accession Protocol treaty instrument still had to be finalised. The treaty text will not be released until after it has been finalised and signed by all CPTPP parties in the next weeks or months.

The 11 CPTPP members are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. The US initiated the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) talks in 2008, but pulled out in January 2017 following a massive civil society campaign against its neo-liberal terms. These included Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS), which allows a foreign investor to sue a government if they believe a new law or policy harms their investment.

Australia and the UK have signed and ratified the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement which will come into force soon. After community campaigning in Australia and the UK, both governments agreed to exclude ISDS from that agreement, as both expressed trust in each others legal systems.

But if the UK joints the CPTPP without Australia taking action on ISDS, British companies could sue the Australian government over law or policy changes, including regulation of carbon emissions and other environmental standards. There have been increasing numbers of cases by fossil fuel companies against regulation of carbon emissions.

Since the late 1980s, British companies have lodged 90 claims against foreign governments using ISDS provisions the third-highest number after US and Dutch companies. British oil and gas miner Rockhopper Explorations recently won 210 million plus interest (about A$360 million) in compensation for lost future profits over Italys 2015 ban on oil and gas drilling within its territorial seas. UK-based fossil-fuel investors in Australia include Anglo American, BP and...

The Second Summit for Democracy brings one more flop for Washington "IndyWatch Feed National"

Contributed by Joe Montero

On Thursday, Washington DC witnessed the conclusion of the so-called second Summit for Democracy, where President Joe Biden gathered representatives from around 120 countries in a stage-managed event that was supposed, they said, to renew democracy.

Just what is this kind of democracy?

Cartoon from Global Times

Like the first summit, this one made it clear that only all about maintaining western dominance across the planet with the United States at the head.

The text of the agenda said there was to be discussion about accountability for human rights, combatting corruption, supporting free elections, democracy, addressing global challenges, including sustainable development, climate change, global health, and food security.

These are important causes about which peoples across the planet want answers for. But they were handled in a way that made it clear they only used as weapons to target nations labelled as the enemy. The speaking list was mostly a roll call of handpicked Washington officials and the usual suspects among world leaders. this was always going to serve an agenda other than the officially provided one.

How can there be a genuine discussion and agreement on democracy in the absence of an equal voice and ownership for all parties? There cant be, and this was the point.

By its end, the summit had fizzled out and become another major embarrassment for the United States, lowering its prestige among the family of nations even further. Most of the embedded media limited its reporting of the Summit for this reason.

Many of the 120 nations represented saw right through this and refused to endorse the Washington generated declaration listing many issues and including a condemnation of Russia. Seventy three voted for it, and 14  of these under economic and political pressure and with reservations. Forty seven voted against. But when considered along with those nations not invited because they do not subtribe to Washingtons foreign policy, less than half of the worlds nations are in support.

Germany to receive enough Covid mRNA vaccine to last into the 24th century "IndyWatch Feed National"

Having some of the most insanely stupid pharmaceutical contracts in the world

eugyppius: a plague chronicle April 2, 2023

You could not have invented a stupider pandemic:

According to the German Ministry of Health, the federal government at the end of February had amassed a reserve of 116 million doses of Corona vaccine. 111 million more doses, valued at around 2.5 billion Euros, are slated for delivery. According to an answer given by the Ministry on 28 March to a question by Thomas Dietz, a Bundestag member of Alternativ fr Deutschland, EU treaties oblige the German government to take delivery of these doses. In view of the current state of the pandemic, the federal government is working to make these EU treaties more flexible, the answer continues.

Another paper does the maths, and notes that if vaccination continues at the current rate of 2,000 jabs per day, the 227 million doses which Germany will last for 311 years. Of course, all of these doses will expire well before then, so Germany will merely receive all of this useless product, store it at substantial expense in freezers for around eighteen months, and then throw it away. This hurts Corona.

In related news, Welt reports on the curious failure of Lauterbachs Health Ministry to finish work on the so-called National Reserve for Health Protection, which Merkels government planned three years ago. The Reserve was supposed to be a massive depot for masks (but of course), other personal protective equipment and medicines, which would in theory free Germany from reliance on China the next time somebody is stupid enough to cry wolf about a respiratory virus.

So far, the only thing anybody has done to realise this Reserve, is put 245 million masks in it, a substantial portion of which are slated to expire at the end of the year. A Ministry spokesperson explains that the project has devolved from a Health Reserve into a National Trashbin for Worthless Masks that Nobody Wants, because it has received no funding. It appears politicians have lost enthusiasm and now prefer that the manufacturers and the federal states maintain their won decentralised reserves. This obviously means that they have quietly written off the project but hope that nobody will realise it.

Despite all that you hear from WEF conference attendees....

New research shows companies support stronger modern slavery laws "IndyWatch Feed National"

A coalition of human rights organisations and academics has today released a new research report revealing the results of a detailed survey of nearly 90 business groups on the impact of Australias Modern Slavery Act. Supported by in-depth focus groups, it is the first in-depth study using both survey and focus groups to examine business responses to modern slavery in Australia.

The report Australias Modern Slavery Act: Is it Fit For Purpose? finds that, of the businesses surveyed:

  • 70% support the establishment of an Anti-Slavery Commissioner.

  • 67% would find it easier to comply with the Modern Slavery Act if it were harmonised with international standardssuch as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

  • 61% would likely improve modern slavery responses if required to undertake human rights due diligence.

  • 54% would likely improve modern slavery responses if financial penalties were introduced.

The research also investigated company approaches to remedying modern slavery in supply chains, finding that failing to engage stakeholders presents a major barrier to remediating modern slavery, while increased transparency between companies and their suppliers results in more effective remediation practices.

The coalition are calling on the government to strengthen the legislation by:

  • Requiring companies to undertake due diligence to prevent and address modern slavery in their operations and supply chains;

  • Introducing penalties for companies that fail to comply with the Act;

  • Ensuring appropriate oversight and enforcement of the Act by appointing an Anti-Slavery Commissioner.

You can download a copy of the research report here.

Freya Dinshaw, Senior Lawyer at the Human Rights Law Centre said:

The findings from this survey show strong support from business for strengthening the Modern Slavery Act. Right now, there is little evidence the law is driving meaningful action by companies to lift conditions for supply chain workers at high risk of exploitation.

In order to be more effective, the Act should be amended to require companies to take action to address modern slavery risks rather than just reporting on their current practices. There must be penalties for companies that fail to comply, and robust oversight and enforcement by an independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner. We urge the government to use the current statutory review to make these key reforms to strengthen the law.

Our focus in this paper is on post-hoc global model interpretability for the application domain of network security problems.
Das hat ein Mensch formuliert. Nicht ChatGPT. Ich kann nur sagen: Hut ab!
However, the set of requirements that we impose on the DT explanations is non-standard and makes this a challenging problem [...] For one, we require that our new DT extraction method be model-agnostic; that is, applicable to any given black-box model. Second, we also demand that the method produces high-fidelity DT explanations; that is, DTs whose expected predictive performance is similar to that of the black-box model
Wait what? Diese Forderungen sind neu? Das hat man bislang nicht gefordert?!?
The third requirement we impose is that the extraction method also results in low-complexity DT explanations such that selected parts of the DTs are intelligible and comprehensible (i.e., easy to understand by domain experts) and accurately describe how the black-box model makes most of its decisions.

The propaganda of the goldbugs which has led so many to lose so much has been this nonsense that gold is the hedge against inflation. When the gold coin was money during the 19th century, it rose and fell in purchasing power no different than any paper currency. These pe...

4 Signs He Has An Avoidant Attachment Style "IndyWatch Feed National"

Back in the 1950s, John Bowlby, M.D., and Mary Ainsworth, Ph.D. realized a unique relationship between how a child relates to their parent in their earliest stage. Based on their work, when children do not properly bond with their parents, they end up with dysfunctional attachment styles, like avoidant attachments.

There are four main attachment styles: anxious, avoidant, disorganized, and secure. When a child is properly bonded to their mother or caregiver early on, they securely attach, and when their bond is somehow stunted, they may end up with one of the others. Anxious attachment styles cause people to be clingy, to be obsessive, and to be fearful constantly of losing their partner or doing something wrong. Avoidant attachment styles lead to people being extremely fearful of commitment and pulling back from emotional depth altogether.

Sadly, being with someone with an unhealthy attachment style can be extremely hurtful. Here are four signs that indicate an avoidant attachment style.

1. When the going gets good, he gets going.

People who are avoidant in their attachment style tend to have difficulty with commitment. Due to this, when things are going well in a relationship or a new partnership, they are likely to bail. To them, good means that they may get attached, and that means they could get hurt. So, instead of being able to feel safe and secure, they pull back.

2. They cling to the past.

Another tell-tell sign of an avoidant attachment is when you notice your partner is stuck in the past. You might find they have a history of this with past lovers. They may collect past love interests on their socials, and you may even hear them constantly reminiscing about someone else.

3. They lack trust in anyone.

People with avoidant attachment styles tend to not trust others. Whenever you tell them you will do something, they will be suspicious. They will constantly be coming behind you, checking to see if you are lying to them or doing them wrong.

4. They are hot/cold.

The biggest sign to me is someone who is either all in or all out. One moment, they seem fine, and they may even talk about commitment. However, when it comes time to pay up, they run for the hills.

Yuck. Stephen Meyer addressed me on Twitter that site really has become a cesspool. Anyway, he claimed I hide my evilutionist views behind complexity, so I had to address that. Because it was so stupid.

Also, Im really annoyed when they drag out deceased scientists who despised them and prop them up as arguments against evolution.

Hey friends!

Stephen Meyer has called me out on Twitter! Well not really Stephen Meyer by his staff. Ive always found it weird when someone has a staff that posts on Twitter under their name, but OK, you be you Mr Meyer. Also its not really about Meyer, since hes just promoting an article by a guy named David Swift who is criticizing me. But sure, Stephen Meyer is poking me at about the third remove, so Ill bite. He quotes this David Swift fellow saying

@pzmyers simply uses complexity as a smoke screen to avoid facing up to the possible falsification of evolution.

Thats a strange and ironic comment coming from the Intelligent Design camp, since complexity is their one argument. It comes from the Swift article, where Im accused of contradicting myself and speaking out of both sides of my mouth, trying to claim evolution is both simple and complicated. Swift says

Can there be a better example of trying to argue that whatever the evidence, evolution is the answer? Where the evidence is consistent with common descent, then of course that is the explanation its simple. And where the evidence is not consistent, common descent is still the explanation but its complicated! Myers simply uses complexity as a smoke screen to avoid facing up to the possible falsification of evolution.

Caught me. Although I do have to mention that the evidence observed so far IS consistent with common descent hell have to show where it isnt. He doesnt. He also hasnt come up with a possible falsification of evolution.

In my defense, though, I will point out that biology is both simple and complicated. This has been an issue in natural history for centuries, at least. On the one hand, we observe all these similarities between organisms that link them. Tetrapods all have similar limb structures, homologous bones making up upper limb and lower limb. But tetrapods also have all these differences, and youll never confuse a bats forelimb with a whales front flipper. A comprehensive theory has to account for both the unity of body plans and the div...

The narrative in retreat "IndyWatch Feed National"

The Lockdown Files have dished up a curious exchange among Britain's top policy advisers in early 2020. On 29 February, responding to a WhatsApp message from Prime Minister Boris Johnson's chief adviser Dominic Cummings that Israeli scientists were just weeks away from developing a Covid vaccine and if this was credible, Chief Scientist Sir Patrick Vallance replied "Short answer is no." Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty explained: "For a disease with a low (for the sake of argument 1%) mortality a vaccine has to be very safe so the safety studies can't be shortcut. So important for the long run." England's highest mortality rate was in April 2020 at 0.6 percent, falling to 0.55 percent in January 2021 and 0.04 percent by January 2023. Based on the original Phase 3 trial data, Bart Classen showed as early as August 2021: "Results prove that none of the vaccines provide a health benefit and all pivotal trials show a statically significant increase in 'all cause severe morbidity' in...

Trump v DeSantis "IndyWatch Feed National"

QUESTION: I thought you were supporting DeSantis. Are you switching to Trump?

SH

ANSWER: This is not about Trump even as an individual. A lot of people hate him for being arrogant. Put personal issues aside. If we are civilized, we do not condemn a person because we do not like him. All of that is absurd. True, I was asked to meet with Trump to talk him out of running in 2024. They wanted me to meet with DeSantis and the story was he was a better administrator. My reply was that I preferred that DeSantis stay right here for they would eat him for lunch in DC.

Even Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr has criticized the indictment, calling it a disgrace and a political hit job. Barr was certainly no Trump fan.

True, I did not think Trump would win in 2024. There were just too many people who drank the cool-aid to get rid of him so they could do precisely what they are doing right now climate and war. I am speaking objectively here and NOT in a political endorsement capacity. The headlines going into 2024 will now be all about Trump. Will that drown out any other potential candidates? These are the serious questions we must deal with. Some Democrats think this will guarantee their win in 2024 even if it is Biden again.

As for all the people who hate Trump and are too blind to look at this objectively, Bragg has crossed the line. This will open the door for Republican prosecutors to do the same to Democrats. This can easily collapse into political civil war at the highest levels. That will only contribute to Socrates forecast that the USA will probably not exist as soon as 2028.

This has NOTHING to do with Trump as a person. Open your eyes! This was a VERY dangerous move and it made no sense. All of these charges and investigations about Trump are insane. They will never change the minds of those in both camps. They are preaching to the choir as they say. The Democrats behind all of this should have left Trump alone. He would have faded into the sunset. Constantly attacking him...

QUESTION #1: Marty, What is going on over there in America? It looks like the country has completely lost its mind. Indicting Trump over such a stupid thing when our politicians over here have open mistresses and in France, you have the head of state who married his high school teacher. How about Berlusconi in Italy who married a 32-year-old? We have a war on our doorstep. Is this some planned distraction so they can start World War III? We are laughing at America over this craziness.

JQ

QUESTION #2:  It looks like this indictment of Trump is precisely what Socrates has forecast. Then a major swing into 2026. Could that be a Trump victory as a backlash against this indictment? I think they are making Trump a symbol of absolute political victimization. The videotapes from January 6th show that were all blown out of proportion with the Democrats calling it an insurrection while the police had walkways set up and escorted the guy with the horns to the podium. What hypocrisy! Then there are videos of Hunter Biden with lines of cocaine where anyone else would be in prison. Just unbelievable how corruption is surfacing.

Woman Who Felt Abandoned by God Dies in Hospital Room, Receives Answer From Jesus "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

This is a remarkable report of a near death experience that is much richer than any i have read before and the information shared adds well to what is known.

The major teaching here is just how deeply we chose our lifeway before we are born.  I was not expectiing that.  We discover lefe experiences are carried forward using even our cells which must have that super computer.

What must be noted is that we think in terms of DNA which is nice enough.  Yet every single lectron has 2400 vertices and inforamtion handling capacity and we do not understand how to integrate photon ribbons all tied into all this.

So why not just tie information forward into time in order to inform our present.  somehow our off on concept of cognition is tattered.

The Future of Therapy: Cat GPT "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

I finally signed into Chat GPT myself instead of just forcing my boyfriend to use it for me. Perhaps its for the best I went solo on this because I had an important question about our relationship. How do you feel about Chat GPTs answer?

Great American Satan:  i accidentally called my boyfriend by my cats name.  i also accidentally tried to feed him cat food.  did i do these things because i subconsciously believe he is a cat?  that would not be good.  why did i treat my boyfriend like a cat?

Chat GPT:  As an AI language model, I dont have access to your subconscious thoughts or feelings, so I cannot say for certain why you made these mistakes. However, its important to remember that accidents happen, and its possible that you simply made an innocent mistake.

Its also possible that your mind was preoccupied with your cat, and you were simply distracted when you called your boyfriend by your cats name or tried to feed him cat food. Its important to take a step back and evaluate the situation without jumping to conclusions about your subconscious thoughts or beliefs.

If youre concerned about your behavior towards your boyfriend, it may be helpful to reflect on your relationship and any underlying feelings or issues that may be causing you to act in this way. Consider talking to a trusted friend, family member, or therapist about your concerns. They can offer an outside perspective and help you work through any issues you may be experiencing.

The struggle is real.  When Mochi was alive and not feeling enthusiastic about eating, Id taken to tapping his food bowl and scooting it toward him to get his attention and trigger his tracking instinct.  One time I not only put the cat food on my boyfriends desk, I tapped it and scooted it toward him.  Just tonight I was low key busting my boyfriends chops and started to call him Hecubus.  But then, my boyfriend is what tumblrites are calling a pathetic little meow-meow.

Im running a fundraiser through April 21st!  Donate at least $3 and you can suggest a word to me that I will rhyme in a rap.  If I just get a few bucks, this rap will be a text poem.  If I reach $500 I will record myself rapping.  If I reach $600 I will do a short video.  Help cover a medical situation, thanks!

I feel the need to tell everyone how much I love my psych meds. "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

After reading some disturbing comments on Facebook, I felt the need to do my own PSA.

Of course, we are back to the gun control debate which then leads to a discussion on mental health. What disturbed me was a few people said psychiatric medications are ineffective and not the answer to mental illness.

Um, what?

I have lived with schizoaffective disorder for most of my life, and while therapy is helpful (I go every week) a cocktail of psych meds is absolutely necessary to manage my symptoms. My mental illness is a medical condition requiring medical treatment.

My Psych Med Story

Ive always been open about my diagnosis and story, and when I come across stigma, I just want to let everyone in. Schizoaffective disorder can be devastating, and nothing in my life would be possible without my medication. I wouldnt consider my life normal, but I function really well. Im productive and fulfilled. Nothings perfect, but Im happy.

I wish everyone could feel what Ive felt the drastic change medication made in my life. I used to experience psychosis which was very frightening and confusing. Mood symptoms were debilitating. But now Im stable and free.

I realize medications work differently for different people, but I get a little defensive when people discredit psych meds altogether.

Time to Educate the Masses

Question Have you ever been involved with something something very important to your life and youre frustrated and heartbroken when you realize the vast majority of people know nothing about it? I feel that way about mental health. Ive been in recovery for nearly twenty years and have worked in the mental health field for sixteen. Im very open and normally feel safe talking about my illness but its hard to remember that not everyone has the same background as me. I even encounter stigma in my own family. Obviously, I am all for education and awareness because while many people dont know much about mental health, its something that affects us all.

For a closing note on mental health even if you dont understand mental illness, just be kind.

Laughing Gas: Permanent Harm for Instant Euphoria? "IndyWatch Feed National"

Nitrous oxide is a colorless gas commonly used by dentists for sedation and pain relief. Recreational use is growing in popularity and, as it is, so are the number of people suffering from significant adverse effects.1 It is also used to make whipped cream and, in the car industry, to enhance engine performance.

Users describe the feeling of inhaling nitrous oxide as a feeling of floating or euphoria that dissipates within one to two minutes. On the street, nitrous oxide is also called balloons, hippie crack, nos, noz, chargers, laughing gas, buzz bomb, nangs and whippets.2,3

The effect is immediate. It can also cause dizziness and severe headache, and can stop you from thinking straight. Some people describe short-lived but intense feelings of paranoia that can be accompanied by auditory distortion and hallucination, which is when you hear and see things that are not there.

Nitrous oxide was first discovered in 1772 by Joseph Priestley and popularized by chemist Humphry Davy as an anesthetic and intoxicant. While some believe nitrous oxide is relatively innocuous as a recreational drug,4 others have experienced significant nerve damage related to the inactivation of vitamin B12 that it causes in your body.5

Nitrous Oxide Abuse a Growing Problem

The U.S., Australia and Europe report nitrous oxide has grown in popularity as a recreational drug.6 The gas can be purchased in lipstick-size capsules containing 0.2 ounces that are used to fill a balloon from which users inhale the gas. These are called little crackers and can have a bad taste. Nitrous oxide can also be purchased in large cylinders producing gas that is tasteless and has a stronger effect.

While The Guardian7 characterizes the gas used as widespread with relative safety, Dr. David Nicholl from Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust told Sky News:8

"Maybe once every five or six years, I'll see a patient who's had a stroke from taking cocaine. Yet, every week, I'm seeing this in my ward. So, from my point of view, this is actually a bigger problem."

The U.K. is seeing a spike in use, which has triggered talks of stricter regulations around the sale and use of nitrous oxide gas. Sky News9 desc...

Despite Scientists Warnings, House Republicans Pass Bill to Boost Fossil Fuels Amidst Climate Crisis "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Ten days after the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released the report synthesizing the findings of its Sixth Assessment Cycle warning that world leaders must slash greenhouse gas emissions by 60 percent by 2035 to have a 50 percent chance to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and staving off more severe climate impacts the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to boost the burning of fossil fuels

The so-called Lower Energy Costs Act, or H.R.1, would cut a fee on methane emissions from oil and gas operations, ease permitting regulations for energy projects and require more fossil fuel leasing on public lands, among other things. Its mostly Republican backers argue that it would boost U.S. energy independence and lower domestic energy costs, but opponents argue that relying on fossil fuels in the first place is what makes energy prices so volatile.

None of it [the GOP energy agenda] makes sense in this moment, Rep. Kathy Castor (D-Fla.), who sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee, told Politico. They ignore the fact it was the high fossil fuel prices that was the primary driver of inflation. What I hear from folks back home is they dont want to be at the mercy of these gas and oil price spikes. They are looking towards the clean energy economy greater independence and more money in their pocket.

The bill passed 225 to 204, with four Democrats supporting it and one Republican voting against. It is partly the GOPs answer to President Joe Bidens signat...

Outbound Investment Screening

Critically Endangered Amur Leopard Twins Born at San Diego Zoo (Maria)

The author writes, The San Diego Zoo is celebrating the birth of the Amur leopard cubs one of the worlds rarest cat species. According to a San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance release, fewer than 300 of these critically endangered big cats remain in the world, making this twin cub birth especially significant. Witnessing the birth of Amur leopards is always an emotional experience, said Gaylene Thomas, a wildlife care manager at the San Diego Zoo. There are so few of them left in their native habitat that every birth carries so much weight and every living individual promises a glimmer of hope. The California zoo announced the leopard births on March 28, and the cubs recently emerged from the birthing den they share with mother Sitka for the first time.

Bioacoustics in your backyard: Q&A with conservation technologist Topher White "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Ever wondered about the furry animal you saw scurrying through your backyard? Or the bird singing outside your window? A new eco-device developed by conservation technologist Topher White aims to help you answer those questions, and bring conservation closer to home. Resembling a mini spaceship, Delta can be put up in your backyard or garden. It records and streams the sounds of animals even those not audible to human ears that visit your home. Beyond streaming the audio, the device can also be paired with an app that uses artificial intelligence to create stories featuring the same animals as central characters. In reality, Delta is a device that can be used for scientific research in the depths of the rainforest, much like the popular AudioMoth brand of acoustic loggers that are popular with researchers. But Delta has also been designed to ensure that it can also masquerade as a smart home device that helps people connect better with their surroundings. Its a tech tool that we hope can connect even the Luddites to nature, White, founder of conservation technology nonprofit Rainforest Connection, told Mongabay in a video interview. Delta can be put up in your garden to record the sounds of the wildlife that visit you, or in a rainforest to help study the ecosystem through its sounds. Image courtesy of Topher White. Russia Calls for Probe Into Bucha Events, Asks UN for List of Victims "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Sputnik 30.03.2023

MOSCOW Russia is calling for an independent investigation into the last year events in the city of Bucha, near Kiev, and calls on the United Nations to publish a list of the victims, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

We are saying it once again. In order to find out the truth, it is necessary to carry out a fair, impartial, independent investigation, which should be focused on giving answers to four questions: identification of bodies, time and cause of death, signs of possible transportation of the bodies, Zakharova said during her press conference.

Russia has requested the full list of Buchas residents, who died at the time of the events, from the UN, but the organization has not provided such a list yet, Zakharova added.

The UN referred to the lists of victims available on the Internet and in social media, but Moscow would like to deal with official information, the official said, adding that the events in Bucha were a provocation aimed at scuttling the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as well as imposing new anti-Russia sanctions.

In April, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that no residents of Bucha suffered from any violent actions while the city was under Russian control.

Selective Outrage in Palestine: The Problem is Not Just Smotrich, Its Zionism "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

By his own admission, Israels new Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, is a fascist homophobe. This declaration, which he made on January 16, should be enough to accentuate the violent nature of the new political concoction created by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last December.

Though Smotrich is not the only politician in Netanyahus cabinet with a track record of violence, both real and rhetorical, he is a special case. Unlike his boss, Smotrich does not feel the need for doublespeak or occasional diplomacy.

In recent months, Smotrich has become internationally famous, not because of his financial genius that could resolve Israels impending financial problems as a result of the weakening of the countrys legal system. Nor does the man have the answers, or even interest, in confronting Israels inherent socio-economic equalitynone of this. Smotrich is mostly popular for his racism.

In 2016, Smotrich made headlines when he suggested that Jewish and Palestinian women should be separated in maternity wards. His logic is as bigoted as it was foolish:

My wife really isnt a racist, but after giving birth, she wants to rest and doesnt want those mass parties that are the norm among the families of Arab women after birth.

At that time, Smotrich was a Knesset member, representing the Jewish Home party, before later joining the Union of Right-Wing Parties, Yamina, the Jewish Home and Yamina, again, and, finally, his current Religious Zionist Party. This indicates that Smotrich, himself an illegal Jewish settler from Kedumim, near the Occupied West Bank city of Qalqiliya, found an ideological home in most of Israels current rightwing political platforms.

In Israels right-wing parties, racism is an important prerequisite to succeed in politics.  In fact, this is precisely how Itamar Ben-Gvir rose from being a youth leader of the extremist Kach party to...

Kit Knightly: Wuhans Mystery Illness is Covids Foundational Lie "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Kit Knightly Off-Guardian March 30, 2023

Recently, while researching our updated edition of 40 Facts, I came across this article from Time magazine, one that I had apparently missed when it was first published and that had somehow escaped my notice in the following three Covid-centric years.

The article demonstrates how, from the very beginning, the covid narrative was a psy-op construct, that never made any internal sense.

It focuses on the work of Chinese virologist Dr Zhang Yongzhen, and how he and his team (allegedly) isolated the Sars-Cov-2 virus and sequenced its genome. The article frames Zhang as a hero whose bravery alerted the world to a scary new threat.

Its just a story, of course a piece of narrative fiction rather than journalism but it does reveal a key facet of the pandemic psy-op roll-out.

The foundational lie, the original sin: Covids mysterious origins.

Every psychological operation has one underlying weakness an uneven seam where the manufactured lie is forcibly joined to inescapable reality.

For 9/11 this is simple physics asymmetrical damage cannot cause symmetrical collapse. For JFK it is the alleged number of bullets causing a known number of wounds, alongside the presidents head going back and to the left.

Oftentimes, the main thrust of any accompanying propaganda is to distract from these irreconcilable ideas. Place a selective distorting lens over certain hard-coded physical realities that forces people to question things they would never usually question.

Those werent really explosions they just sounded like it.

His head didnt really go backwards it just looked like it did.

you get the idea.

For covid, this fractured disconnect can be located very specifically to Wuhan in December 2019.

The alleged timeline of the discovery of Covid is pretty well known, but here is a quick recap:

  • In mid-December 2019, 4 people were admitted to Wuhan hospital with pneumonia. By the end of the month, that number had grown to 27.
  • One unnamed doctor decides this pneumonia is mysterious, and sends one sample from one patient to Dr Zhang of the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center for analysis.
  • Dr Zhang tests this single sample, from just one of 27 alleged patients with pneumonia, immediately finds a new coronavirus, and at once decides it must be the cause of this mystery.

There are numerous problems with this story, and indeed the timeline of events that speedily followed from the sequencing to the modelling to the development of testing assays.

But strangest of all is the question the official narrative never even attempts to answer:

Can We Really Last until 2032? "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

QUESTION #1: Martin,

Since Trump was already not guilty of having the affair (to which Stormy Daniels admitted never took place), does that mean that the New York Court has indicted him on the charges of being blackmailed?

DB

QUESTION #2: Bill Clinton committed perjury. That was legal grounds to indict him and remove him from office. Nobody wanted to indict Richard Nixon either. I can now see why Socrates is forecasting the collapse of the United States. I just realized that the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, announcing the separation of 13 North American British colonies from Great Britain. What I did not know was it was only a vote of 12 and New York abstained. It seems like New York is at it again. Do you really think we can last until 2032?

ANSWER: What Bragg has done is so undermining to the entire country and he has accepted money from a foreign power seeking to undermine the United States George Soros. That is treason in my book. He is doing the bidding of a declared enemy against the United States and everything our way of life has stood for.

Yes, the Declaration was signed 1776.506. The United State will exist no more after 2034.50. I am very concerned that the 2024 Presidential election is not going to be fair if at all. By the time we get to 2025.90, this does not look good in the least. It is highly unlikely that we are looking at this lasting as we have known it until 2032. It looks like everything unravels starting in 2027.

US Sent 365 Attack Craft to Confront Russia "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

QUESTION: Marty; It looks like NATO is preparing to invade Russia. What the hell is going on?

HR

ANSWER: That may be old footage. It is squadron 365, not 365 planes. Nevertheless, the US is preparing troops for Europe. As I have explained, the Neocons are in full control of US foreign policy. They are intent on starting a war BEFORE 2024. They have 300,000 troops on the border of Russia in Poland. They have used Ukraine to weaken Russias conventional forces. They think they can take Russia in less than one week. They believe that Russia will not push the button. What if they are wrong? They believe in their own propaganda.

They have waged a brilliant campaign. They pretend their warmongering is being patriotic. They do not care about America, its people, or anything honorable. They used Ukraine as cannon fodder and they will do the same with Americans. They killed 58,000 Americans in Vietnam. For what?

They are INTERNATIONALISTS, not Americans, and in their view, they must rule the world. Who cares about Americans? There are too many of us anyhow. Thin the herd is their view.

Welcome to World War III

European Central Bank interest rates will likely have to rise further to contain inflation, policymakers said on Wednesday, but at least one outspoken conservative floated the idea of a slowdown in the pace of increases. The ECB has raised rates by a combined 350 basis points since July but offered no guidance for its next meeting on May 4, arguing that recent financial market tension could upend any plan. Slovak central ba...

EPAs Internal Watchdog to Investigate Agencys Response to East Palestine Train Derailment "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Residents of East Palestine, Ohio, have criticized the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its response to the derailment of a Norfolk Southern train that released toxins including vinyl chloride a plastic production chemical linked to liver cancer into the towns environment.

Now, the EPAs internal watchdog said it would investigate the agencys handling of the disaster.

As part of this inquiry, we will conduct interviews, gather data, and analyze a variety of issues, including hazardous waste disposal, air and water monitoring, soil and sediment sampling, and risk communication, the EPA Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an announcement Monday.

An agency spokesperson did not tell The Guardian why it chose to investigate. However, the EPA has faced many criticisms for how it conducted testing following the incident to make sure the derailment site and surrounding area were really safe for residents.

There are too many unanswered questions and conflicting information, Kyla Bennett of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, who used to work as an EPA scientist, told The Guardian. The IG can get to the bottom of how decisions were made to conduct testing the way they were and whether that was sufficient.

One of the biggest controversies surrounding the government response to the derailment involved testing for dioxins. These are a type of toxic and persistent chemical present in Agent Orange, Stephen Lester of the Center for Health, Environment & Justice explained in an opinion column for The Guardian.

Dioxin is not deliberately manufactured. It is the unintended byproduct of indus...

Azerbaijan border tensions

Iran's army, Artesh, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces have increased their military presence on the country's northwestern borders as tensions rise between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

On 23 March, local media released an unconfirmed video of fighter jets manoeuvring in the sky, saying that Iranian F4 and F14 fighter jets flew close to the border with Azerbaijan to warn Baku about any new military operation in the breakaway province of Nagorno-Karabakh, a region populated mainly by ethnic Armenians but claimed by Azerbaijan.

That same day, Fars news agency reported that Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the IRGC ground forces, visited the troops guarding Iran's borders with its two northwestern neighbours, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Iranian analysts began speculating about Tehran's potential response to a new military confrontation between Baku and Yerevan over Nagorno-Karabakh.
